Q&A: Forgotten Bygones · 3:53am Mar 30th, 2023
Yes, another Q&A, but this time it's about my most popular story (somehow), Forgotten Bygones
Ask any questions about the story, however, I will not answer some questions that could lead to BIG SPOILERS for the story. So uh yeah those are the only rules.
Ask away if ya want.
I have three questions.
1. What was the inspiration that made you want to create the story?
2. How do you feel about the story as whole?
3. Was it originally supposed to be shorter or was it going to be longer anyway?
Hope you have a good day.

It was originally going to be a comic series, which was inspired by The Shadow Shard by dSana. I loved the comic, and how Starlight was written, so I decided that I wanted to make a MLP comic out of inspiration.
The next step was for me to think of a plot. At the time, I had no idea. So whenever I was bored and wanted to turn my brain off, I decided to watch a few episodes of MLP (I don't know which specific ones), and while watching some episodes, the main idea suddenly hit my brain: What if everyone hates a reformed villain again?
Now that I had the general idea planned out (but the entire story wasn't fully thought out), I decided on the characters. Originally, Starlight was going to be the only main character. Then the story would start out with her writing a scroll (to Sunburst probably) THEN Twilight would barge into her room and demanded for her to be kicked out. (Fun fact: When Starlight got kicked out in the second chapter, that was exactly how my comic was going to begin).
Then after that, another problem hit me, and this one pretty much stopped my plans for the comic: drawing the scenes.
Yeah... I was not a good drawer when it comes to ponies (and I'm still not lol) and I was going to release this comic in public so I had to up my game. But unfortunately, my art never improved no matter how hard I tried. Plus the comic cover looked pretty bad...
So since I couldn't draw scenes for the life of me, I dropped the idea. Then a year later I would come across this story in my mind, and since I had a FimFiction account now, I decided to bring the story to life. But this time, Trixie and Discord is joining the cast, and the story was heavily modified and improved.
Admittedly, when you write out the story blindly (meaning you didn't really plan out the whole thing), it can be a little stressful. I even put myself in a hole a couple of times
For example, after I released Déjà Vu, a few people in the comments section called out Twilight's stupidity for "releasing the curse onto them again". I panicked because my original plan was for Twilight to release the curse out of pure guilt, and that she didn't deserve to be forgiven for her actions (the curse had no part of her plan at all).
But then after looking at the comments and my plan, I realized that if I went with this plan, then not only did I screw myself but people would dislike my story because of my stupidity when it comes to Twilight's character arc in the story. So I had to scrap the original idea entirely and I had to work hard to make a new, acceptable one. (Which is why I released the next chapter a month later because planning out a new idea, and trying to execute it perfectly, and with irl stuff in the way, it is time consuming as hell).
So in a shorter version: I do enjoy writing this story a lot, but it can be stressful at times trying to please everyone and hope that I don't potentially screw up my story (I even get scared when I get notified for a new comment lol)
It was originally gonna be shorter than 22 chapters lol.
Thanks you too! ;)
