Still Alive... If Just Barely... · 7:59pm May 20th, 2023
Oh wow, has it really been over half a year since my last blog post? Well shit...
So here's an update on what I've been doing.
Book 3 of Ancient Mage is still being worked on. I actually just finished the first arc recently. I've been trying to figure out why I've been having trouble staying motivated to write as proficiently as I have in the past. It's most likely depression, something I'm sure a lot of people can relate to. I do have some stuff I'm going through IRL atm. It's also possible I've been digging up a lot of my own buried feelings as I go about telling the story of Clover's past, something that I'm not 100% sure if it's healthy or not. We all got demons to face, and writing about Clover's has put me in the position where I feel I'm having to face my own.
The story is still coming. I've had to take more than a few mental health days just to make sure I don't crack under my own psyche, but it is coming. I feel it might be a little too important to make sure I finish this journey I started.
When are we going to see new chapters? It's hard to say. I have about 24 chapters I could post right now, but after the fiasco of the first version of Return of the Ancient Mage, I don't want to release anything on the fly if I'm going to run the risk of continuity making a mess of itself.
I may not have as many followers as some writers, but those of you who do follow me, I just want to let you know I'm still here and kicking.
We're still here! Can't wait to see it come out, but keep in mind a rushed product is forever bad, while a delayed one may eventually be good. Just take your time and don't stress too much.
I look forward to seeing it! Take your time and ensure its something you want to release. It will take the same amount of time to finish whether you release chapters on the go or not, so why not take the time to make sure your happy with it first?
Take care of yourself as you do though.
I know I’m behind on the chapters, but it’s been good! But take mental health days when you need them for sure~ I know I need them a lot.
