    Across the generations

Something happened earlier this week that got me thinking.

Even though I have all of G4 on my computer and can watch any part of it any time I wish, back on monday on a whim I clicked on the official MLP stream on youtube. I found myself dropped into the middle of Magical Mystery Cure, just before A True True Friend started playing, and I watched through to the end of the episode.

Saw a big boat today · 12:30pm May 26th, 2023

Specifically the USS Gerald R. Ford, the world's largest warship, which is currently parked in the Oslofjord.

Admittedly I saw it from some distance, up in the hills. I didn't want to go all the way down to the islands to get the closest possible view. That would have meant crossing over the busy highways and such, and honestly it was a long enough bike trip as it was. I had to go hunting around the hills for a bit to find anywhere it was visible at all, but now I'm satisfied that when the world's largest warship came to town to visit, I did indeed go take a look at it.

Very true n_n The biggest I've seen (I think) is the HCMS Haida which is anchored near my hometown.

I've seen plenty of tallships too but I couldn't tell you how big they were. :twilightsheepish:

Those giant sea eagles sitting on the deck must be huge.
It’s very hard to make out detail in that photo, but there are so many of them!

My phone camera, zoomed in quite a bit, doesn't give a terribly clear picture of the eagles, unfortunately.

Heck, when I stop and look at the structure in the foreground it doesn't even look real. It looks like a cartoon graphic badly photoshopped in :rainbowhuh:

Significant Other was humming Don't Crash the Ambulance by Mark Knopfler.

Kinda felt apropos
