It never sat right with me that Sunset's homesickness continually got axed on the cutting room floor, and that she never got a proper ending to her story arc, and hearing about the plans the writers had before the plug was pulled was very, very bittersweet.
Gave me the motivation to write What A Long Strange Trip.
Damn… I only just got into MLP two years ago, and it was through Equestria Girls that I got interested in the universe and the characters. Sunset’s story in particular struck a chord with me like nothing has ever done before, and it’s such a massive shame that she never got an ending. And to think that it’s been 10 years since it all began…
