Believe it or not, I actually got some chores done today.

And that's saying something, because if Diablo IV was this good at any point last year, it would have definitely been near the top of my Best Games of 2023. You know, instead of being omitted entirely.

So let's just say that Armored Core VI absolutely just got smacked out of the running for Best Yesteryear Game.

    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

I spend 95% of my time on here writing... · 3:12pm Jul 16th, 2023

...And 5% of it reading other stories. So it feels good when I finally finish a 184k-word story that has sat in one of my phone's background tabs for over two years.

Shortly after moving over a block in town in 2020, I started reading shortskirtsandexplosions' HiE story, How To Disappear Completely, where the human-world Flash Sentry, struggling with depression and unable to cope with the monotony and apathy of high school and the surrounding world, makes the split-second decision to jump through the portal to Equestria, and soon goes gallivanting off to feel alive again.

The story is humorous and enthralling, and it manages to hold that zeal for most of the tale.

But then the final quarter just... Nosedives, and the ending is polarizing among the readers, to say the least.

This must be how Game of Thrones fans felt for that final season.

But I guess it's a great example of the destination not mattering, but the journey. The journey was fun, which is fortunate because the destination just rang hollow.

Oh well. Back to the other 95% of my time here.

So, in 5 years do we get to find out your thoughts on Background Pony? :rainbowlaugh:

What's even worse is when a interesting story stops halfway though and is never finished, which I seen happen a few times on this site.

Same. Been disappointed multiple times on that front.

Alas, ‘it’s the cruse of fanfiction my friend.
Also, I now realize that I should probably read less if I want to write more…
