I got a chance to watch Blue Beetle that got my boy, Miguel Diaz playing the Blue Beetle and I got to say... I really have a great time watching Blue Beetle.
To those who wanted a Latino-starring superhero movie, this movie is for you cause they handle the Latino element really well, especially Jaime's interaction with his family.
It's a personal to me because not only I'm a Mexican American but I grown up watching Blue Beetle from Batman: Brave and the Bold show and he was voiced by Batman Beyond himself, Will Friedle.
Unlike Shazam 2 and The Flash, this movie is pretty much stand-alone and it feels you don't need to watch previous DCEU movies to understand Blue Beetle because Angel Manuel Soto and James Gunn has stated this movie is set in DCU... the new DC universe James Gunn created with Superman: Legacy being the first film... so, expect Xolo Maridueña coming back as Blue Beetle in DCU... don't believe me? This is quote from James Gunn himself.
“I can’t wait for audiences to meet Jaime Reyes, who will be an amazing part of the DCU going forward,”
So yeah, Blue Beetle is the first DCU character.
I'm recommend everyone to gives Blue Beetle a watch... it's worth it.

For me, my favorite variation of Blue Beetle was the one they showed in Young Justice, especially during the Invasion Arc.

I thought he was likable - especially with his dynamic with Impulse - and his subplot of trying to turn the Scarab and keep it from allowing an alien invasion to happen was an interesting direction for his character to go in.
Though I do admit, I lost touch with Young Justice after Season 3, but from what I heard, Blue Beetle got severely demoted to extra, being barely part of the plot after Season 2 was complete. I'll be curious to see if Xolo Maridueña's take gives him more to do with his character.
