Hello writers!
Yes, we’re still revisiting Classic Being a Better Writer posts while I deal with, well, a lot. An obligatory link to a post discussing it, and that’s all I’ll say. There are more links there.
Anyway, as I thought over what older BaBW post would be most useful to revisit, I started thinking over one that isn’t really that old, but still is well worth knowing, especially for those who might be setting out to write something in Fantasy or Sci-Fi for the first time. Especially if they’re prone to being tripped up by their own errors, the topic discussed in this post can grind their progress to a halt.
It’s a fun post. And a highly informative one. Better yet, it links to other posts as well, offering an expanding ring of knowledge related to it’s subject.
So, kick back, get ready, and hit the jump. Let’s talk about the problem with proper nouns in Sci-Fi and Fantasy.
Ooo, I remember this one. Never mess with the Marines. There are no ex-Marines.
