Chapters Revisited: 32/61 Major Changes: Foreshadowing toned down.
Chapter 32 had a lot of wording changes to better fit Vinyl's struggle.
Bonus: AP edited Forbidden Melodies so hopefully I can call it done.
That's right! Forbidden Melodies got an overhaul again. It's my best performing fic ever that most of you know me for that really shows how much I've grown as a writer over the years. I wrote that story over the course of one day trying to get it out of my head and then edited it the next day. The speed it was produced shows and has been hanging over me for years as I've attempted to fix it over and over. Now that AP gave it the once-over, I feel confident in saying that it's done. I'll likely have to retouch it just a little bit in a few months, but boy howdy I was happy to see over 100 comments on the doc I shared with him to look over. As always, be sure to thank TheAncientPolitzanian for the work he does. He helps my words be comprehensible to all of you.
This was one of the more nerve-wracking edits. Everything up through 31 was pretty smooth sailing, aside from one conversation between two ponies that didn't hide its foreshadowing well enough to not be distracting. Chapter 32 though is probably the most important chapter in the entire fic. Folks loved that one as much as I did, and I gave it special attention to make absolutely sure it stuck its landing better now. It's got a few changes to help it be paced a little more naturally as well as address things that I hadn't developed fully until after I'd written it. So happy to be over this major hurdle.
Starting now, I'm getting starting to edit what I consider the "slog to the climax" chapters. This was probably the most difficult parts of the whole story for me to write. I just wanted to get to the ending, but the characters weren't ready for it. Had to let that candle burn slow and steady. Don't get me wrong, I there were a lot of good moments to come from this, but my story bible literally had this period as "Other events yet to be thought of" between the Performers Showcase and Crystal Summit to sum up a good fourth of the fic. I knew exactly where I wanted to go, but I didn't know the road to get there at all. Luckily around this time was when both Jymbroni and Alchemik hoped aboard and started helping me get through this period. I'm looking forward to reading though this again and seeing what I need to touch up, if anything.

Ryza 3 is getting on my nerves with its overly large open world and weird key mechanics. I don't think I'm forgetting anything... lemme check my calendar. Oh, March 9th is coming up. I'll be 35.
