I think my job is trying to give me PTSD.

I was awoken by a phone call this morning. Work asked me to come in, as things were crazy. I did so, was there from around 9:30 AM to 6PM. Worked without a lunch break, I might add.

    The Moral Event Horizon.

Gonna discuss another trope today in relation to the Quiververse. In this case, it's the Moral Event Horizon. In simple terms, this is the point a character passes that forever marks them as EVIL and potentially irredeemable. TVTropes itself lists a few examples from FiM, and I won't repeat them here...though I will say that

    It never ends. It just...never...ends...

So work decided to throw another curve ball at me. My supervisor has been transferred to another store. That means that I've had six supervisors in my department across six years, and it could take weeks, maybe even months, for us to get a new one. Which means I'm going to continue to be worked to death.

    So, I'm writing again.

It's not much, but I got some writing done today. Now, be warned, it's going to be a very long time before I do anything related to the Quiververse again, but I'm hoping that time frame will be measured in months rather than a year.

Still, at least I'm making some progress.

    A question to my readers.

When I started serious work on the Quiververse, I made myself a promise. That promise was thus, to do the best I can to use whatever characters appear in a story to the best of my ability. I like to think I've done that, as various canon characters are reasonably consistent with their portrayals in the show (and arguably are undergoing development, though that's up to the reader), and my OCs have

Just a random question. · 3:22am March 24th

Does anyone re-read my stuff? Just go back and refresh their memories regarding my storyline? I'm curious.

Oh, and what I was saying last time? I feel comfortable sharing it now - I'm pre-approved for a mortgage. I'm about to start househunting!

It's not a regular thing, but yes, sometimes I will go back and re-read some of your stories.

And also, hey, congratulations! :yay: Best wishes to the house hunt, you hear?

Not complaining. I go back and re-read them too. Helps me find typos that need to get fixed.

Thanks for that. Right now I'm not sure if I should be worried about finding a place, or if I should be worried about my coworkers threatening to move in with me.

I do from time to time. Not as often as I used to (time marching on from the end of G4, my former anger and disappointment in the latter two thirds of said gen and the general fanbase's acceptance of its worse aspects turning to jaded resignation, and disgust with the degeneracy of the current fanbase at large all lead me to care less and less about MLP in general as time goes on), but enough to keep me looking forward to what's coming up for your future works.

Glad to hear things are looking up for you. Good luck in finding a house.

Thanks. And I do appreciate you reviewing my stuff, if only to keep me honest about trying to minimize or outright do away with the big issues seen in canon. I can't fix an issue if it isn't pointed out to me, after all.

I've been meaning to get around to the last three chapters of Legends.

Well I hope that you enjoy them once you do. Big things happen in those chapters.

Yeah, I do.
I've actually binge-read the entire series from time to time, and I definitely have favorite stories among them that I shamelessly reread.
(Looking at you, The Sun Also Rises, Wherever You Find Love, A Shimmering New Year, A Daring Day, Scars of the Quill, Scars of the Sun, Legends of Magic; etc.)

And a hearty congrats on that, Echo!
I hope you find the perfect place for you.

That makes me very happy. And I think you made some good choices there, especially regarding Scars of the Quill. I am so very proud of that story.

I hope that I do too. Hopefully, I'll get lucky with the realtors.

5773634 Well, you being happy makes me happy.
Thank you. I have more favorites than that one, but I didn't want to go TOO overboard with them.
On another note about it, is it bad of me that I wanted to pound the soon-to-be-EX-Mrs. Rich NEE Milk) into mush every time I reread it, though?
I don't think so, but maybe that's just me.
And rightly so.
Personally, I think that it's one of your masterpieces.

Fingers cross for you, my friend.
I'm hoping that for you, too.

I do. :) Both as memory refreshers and simply to enjoy my favorite stories in the series once more. Off the top of my head, I think the ones I've re-read the most are Reflections - Quiververse Edition, Scars of the Sun and Tales from a Double Date. They're not the only ones, but they're the ones I remember re-reading the most.

And congratulations! I'm really happy to know that! :) As always, keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks. As I've said, right now it's a matter of talking to realtors. Hopefully, I'll get the ball rolling on that soon.
