    What is YOUR Definition...

    People often yak at me

    "Try better yourself"

    "Grow up"

    "Improve"

They say all that, but they don't provide actual definitions or explanations of what they mean by all that. It's like I'm supposed to guess what they want.

The same thing follows with fiction, when people whine and complain.

    "This sucks"

    "Write them In character"

Twilight Sparkle Improving Lives? (Friendship is Failure)

    People sure love to complain...

She always tries her best to get through to those with friendship problems and help them improve their lives, no matter how much they reject and act hostile towards her.

She gets disrespected a lot because she wants to help people, even though she's a princess who's saved Equestria on multiple occasions.

What will it Change? (Trying means Nothing!) · 10:01pm March 24th

In relation to my previous blog, https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/1035717/i-have-to-or-you-just-want-me-to which relates to "Are you doing it for ME or YOURSELF?"

People still get up my back saying I need to "Get Help" "Change my groove" or, and the most often said "Fix your writing-- make it better/different"

There's a good reason why I don't listen to this advice. Sometimes you have to consider... "Even if I do so, will it really change anything?"

I have seen situations like this in fiction...

POWER RANGERS NINJA STORM

Sensei (Kanoi) and Lothor (Kiya) are brothers. When Kiya turned to the Dark Side, and took on the name Lothor, he was banished from the Earth.

Sensei never told his son, Cam, or the other rangers that Lothor was his brother. (Cam's uncle) under the law of the Ninja. "Once a Ninja has been banished, they cease to exist. The one I knew as my brother is a mere memory." He could have told his son, and the rangers from the start, "Perhaps, but what would have changed? Would you battle him any different?"

THE RISING OF THE SHIELD HERO

Itsuki Kawasumi (The Bow Hero)

Due to having a dim view of justice, and a superiority complex, he was not a very good hero. One of his biggest disasters was when he overthrew a despot who was over-taxing his townspeople (Because the country was going through famine and low on provisions.) He got someone else to run the village, but also demanded a hefty bill for his efforts. This left the town in economic poverty and on the verge of starvation. "All you did was change who ran the village. You didn't solve any problems at all!"

YU-GI-OH ARC V

Kit Blade VS Gong Strong... The Duel ends in a tie. In truth of factual reality. There is no difference between LOSING and TIEING. Either way, you did not win. It doesn't matter if you tried your best either; you just weren't good enough.

ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME

The Deku Tree tasked Link of destroying the source that was cursing him, but it didn't matter-- the tree was already doomed before Link even started (The whole point was not to Save the Tree, but test Link's courage and resourcefulness for his adventure ahead)

Point is... we tried, but it just wasn't good enough. "We have eradicated the virus and stopped the bleeding... but the patient is too far gone to be saved.

What Yoda probably meant in that scene is that sometimes Trying isn't good enough and won't get you far. You either SUCCEED or you FAIL. (Trying means nothing) you either HAVE what it takes or you DON'T.

COLUMBO (Blueprint for Murder)

(All smokers, drinkers, and drug abusers could use this advice)

After interviewing the doctor, Columbo gets some free medical-advice. "Stop smoking those [Cigars]."

"Well, I've been trying."

"Trying" isn't good enough!"

Now, let's take a look at some of my notable fanfiction situations, and we'll compare the situations to both IN and OUTSIDE.

As I said, my Haters continue to whine at me that Starfleet or others did nothing, and didn't even try to stop something from happening. Of course, they don't realize the full seriousness of the situation.

It's not just because I (THE WRITER) want this to happen, but... consider this...

FRATELLO (Season 2)

There is no way to save him.

-You cannot reprogram him. His programming and circuitry are far too complex to understand even for Starfleet's best scientists. (They have never seen anything like this before)

-You cannot separate him from the robot. He's not a pony wearing metal armor, he IS metal armor, wires, circuitry and everything, any attempts to try and separate him will kill him instantly.

-You cannot detain him. Robots are impervious to capture and containment. Forcefields have no effect on them. (It's not a Changeling; it's a robot. You're going to have destroy it. Containing it won't work.)

And after Fratello was defeated, "Why didn't they TRY to put him back together?" Because it was no use...!

-Most of the robots parts were lost in the explosion. Whatever they managed to salvage is all busted and burnt beyond hope, and there's still the matter of it's construction and programing being too complicated.

-Even if they WERE able to get it working... it would change nothing. It would just be a lifeless robot; not Fratello. That part of him is gone, forever!

ESROH DAB (Season 4)

My haters are still peeved that he committed practical suicide while the others just stood there and did nothing to try and stop him or help him. That's because... It wouldn't matter if they did. There is no way at all to save Esroh from his fate (Not even if you try)

-Rarity already tried to use the Elements of Harmony. They had no effect on him. He's not like Princess Luna and Nightmare Moon (An evil being born from someone good) He's 100% pure evil, made from and by evil itself. There's no Good inside of him to work with despite his kind gestures.

-You cannot take him to a safe place: No matter where you take him, no matter what barrier you try to put up around him. The Dark King can still get him and execute him anyway right where he stands. ("The Dark King has powers we can never hope to understand.")

-His timeline: That's one thing you can't protect him from at all. Since he was created by the Dark King in the future, and his life force comes from The Dark King himself... Destroy the Dark King-- you destroy Esroh Dab just like that. And if the Dark King never comes to be, then neither does he, and he'll cease to exist just like that.

Try all you like... your efforts amount to squat!

COUNT LOGAN and FLURRY HEART (Ah yeah, we're going there again)

All of my haters are still pissed out of their minds by what Logan did to Flurry, but even more so that nobody got up and tried to stop him.

What difference would it make if they had tried? They would've easily been slaughtered on the spot before they could do anything, and Flurry would have died anyway.

Those are examples of all the INSIDE matters, now, let's view the OUTSIDE, and this is easy because for nearly every situation and many others... it's all the same.

IF I DID CHANGE THE STORY... What will it change?

-You still mock it, thumb it down and say "Should never have been made." anyway. Initially, Flurry Heart didn't have her head pulled off; she died in an explosion when Equestria was destroyed, not that it changed YOUR grooves anyway, you still gave me a rough time, and you STILL would have even if I had made Flurry survive and go on the adventure. So quit asking for and demanding "Change" or "Trying" when it's not going to make a difference.

-"You'll get more positive views and comments." That means hardly much to me... if I am not pleased or satisfied the way the story is.

So you see, all this trying and changing, pretty much does nothing...

-It doesn't change you people (You still mock me)
-It doesn't rescind any and all of your previous behaviors towards me.
-It doesn't make ANYONE (Neither you, I, or anyone) better

And that is whole depth of this thing...

I'm not saying you should never try ever. But you need to stop this nonsense.

"At least they tried." Which means Nothing! They still failed! (And you'll mock them anyway)

"It shows they have the decency and morality to TRY instead of doing nothing." Pah! You say that like it makes them better people. Well, it DOESN'T! (Especially if you intend to mock and disrespect them anyway)

Again, I'm not saying "Don't ever bother to try."

What I'm saying is...

-Sometimes, trying just won't cut it
-It won't change things
-It won't make you a better person

... and above all, Quit telling me to "Try" or "Change" or do a whole bunch of things that won't do anything in the end. (Nothing will change)
