My main goal with writing PVCF app stories was to include as many characters as possible, with a particular focus on G1 & G3 characters, as well as toy-only G4 characters.

This story draws inspiration from the second MLP special, Escape From Katrina, and the G1 episode Mish Mash Melee, using the setting from the second.

The Frazzits are protoplasmic entities that alter the balance of reality. In terms of the episode, it switches the personalities of the four ponies, while makes all of the Dell Dwellers into buffoons.

The logical, stoic Wind Whistler has her personality switched with that of the frivolous, silly Fizzy, and the brave and daring Gusty switches with the timid, sullen Shady*.

Katrina is G1’s second ever antagonist. Unlike Tirac, she reforms at the end of her special instead of being rainbowed out of existence.

This is played with here, as we see it takes a lot to overcome her urges. She was a narcotics user (witchweed) and in this story she’s still dealing with the withdrawal years later.

Ember’s a blank flank, and supposedly the inspiration for Apple Bloom. The above image is also a redraw of a scene from an episode, in this case in the original MLP special, Rescue At Midnight Castle. She’s just jumped off a cliff because even though she’s an earth pony she’s convinced she can fly. Of note, the unicorn Glory has just roller skated off the same cliff.

Ember’s rough and tumble, but still adorable. Of note, Vylet uses a sample from Rescue At Midnight Castle in the song It Rained Today where Twilight is telling Ember that she’ll grow up to be her own special pony even if she can’t fly like Firefly or Medley or jump far like Bowtie.

Heart Throb’s the other pony featured here, and she’s obsessed with romance. She’s also mostly vegan. Or so I’m told…
