I was playing Warframe earlier. I was doing a Void Relic mission, in this case a Defense mission.
For those not in the know, on these missions you and your allies each have a Void Reliquary of one kind or another. You do the mission that you're doing and as you slay enemies, they drop Reactant. Collect 10 before the deadline and BOOM! Your Reliquary is cracked and when the next checkpoint is reached you get the reward. It's slightly more complicated than that, but I won't go into that here.
Side note: You also get a boost to your equipment until that checkpoint is reached, so if you crack yours earlier on, it makes it just that much easier to keep up.
However, something strange happened partway through wave two.
The Host did a migration, and suddenly I was left alone. For another three waves. Against level 40 enemies. At a scale set for FOUR players.
So... you know, a teensy bit worried, here.
Unfortunatelyy, when it comes to games like this, I absolutely loathe having to leave a match early. So I had immediately decided, win or lose. I was sticking with it. It's my ONE stubborn streak.
Fortunately for me, I had equipped one of my more recent Warframes. Excalibur Umbra.
Side note: I could see Princess Luna using one of those. But anway,
For those of you who don't know, Umbra got its own backstory and has an Intelligence of its own. That allows it to act on its own when you aren't merged with it.
"Haha! So now it's one hundred (or so) to one... and a half!" Suddenly, a huge improvement in my favour.
Anyway, between us, I was able to reach the end of wave 5 -barely- and get out of there with the Void Reliquary i had equipped cracked..
I would have hoped for nan Achievement, I feel like I deserve one, but guaranteed, it's not on there.
