How Not to Be a Writer · 3:17am Dec 31st, 2012
Many of you might be wondering when the Heck I'm gonna get off my lazy butt and continue my surprise hit "Scootaloo Goes to Heck".
Well, the answer is... eventually.
The hard part about writing something is that it's all about attitude. If you're in a good mood, the writing comes easy. The situations, the dialogue, the whole thing just flows from brain to keyboard instantly, and you're good to go.
The problem comes in when you actually stop to THINK about what you're writing. At best, you think it's good and you keep going. At other times, you think the whole thing is crap and you either scrap it or decide to take a break from it. At worst, and what personally happens the most often, you think it's good, you want to keep writing, but you end up spending most of the day staring at a blinking cursor. The words don't come until the worst possible moment, when you quite literally CAN'T get to the keyboard or even a pen and paper. You tell yourself you're going to remember, but you don't.
And it doesn't matter what you're trying to write, either. I'm not trying to write big, epic, 15,000-word chapters or anything with this story. It's supposed to be "simple", whatever that means anymore. And yet, that's just as hard to write.
So why am I posting this now, after months of no update? Well, I feel like you guys, the people who actually read my stuff and want to see more of it, deserve to know what's going on. Plus, maybe by posting this, it'll take a load off of my mind and I'll be able to write again.
Either way, thanks for reading, and I'll see you soon.
Also coming eventually: Survivor: Everfree Forest
"Scootaloo goes to Heck" just had the right mixture of stupid, awesome and funny so its no suprise it became a big hit ^^
But if you have Plank in front off your Head it can't be helped i guess
Ah so you were one of my favorite story updates. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised to see Scootaloo's "Heck trek" get an update after so long and me not having been really on here to read anything for a week or so. I remember finding that tale back when you only had one chapter on it and it had been in my favorites ever since. A wonder I didn't give you a follow then. Perhaps I'll correct that here so that I may know whats going with you and your stories better. Also, your reasons for not being able to update more often sound understandable to me. So I say just take your time and that flow will come to you when it's good and ready. No sense in rushing a good thing, right?
Well, it's good to see your still alive and typing, friend. Take care and carry on.
