Just as way of proving I have not forsaken thee

So, I know the most recent chapter of Taboo has been taking a bit longer than usual (as compared to the last few I suppose), and that's because ever since my legs started functioning as walking thingamajigs again I've been in kind of a tizzy trying to frantically make things as if I wasn't down and out for so long. It certainly magical how wonderfully screwed up things can get while my physical

    Spooky Jookie

Hey there sports fans! Your friendly neighborhood HLJ is back in action after getting swept up in what is frankly none of your business. As seems to be the pattern in my life, I'm once again under the no doubt false impression that I have free time to spend as I please. The point is, between being the GODDAMN BEST Wario on SSB4 and trying like hell to get just one shiny Pokemon, I'll be

Well, maybe not so much.

Howdy gang, nice to see you all again. Unfortunately, our time together is coming to a close. As you might have realized, I've still been writing in my absence and I've shared with you what I've been able to cook up thus far. Originally, I was planning on taking the newest chapters down when the clock struck midnight, but something has stirred in my stone cold heart. I guess I'll leave them up, so be grateful...

In the past twenty-four hours I have been in a taxi, on a plane, on a train, and my thoughts have been consumed with getting to a computer with internet access to see what everyone thinks of my progress. It's tough writing without feedback, but it's still fun and it keeps my mind from wandering.

I left in haste last time without much explanation, but that was callous of me. Now that I have more than just a handful of minutes, I'll see if I can't say good-bye more appropriately. I can't guarantee I'll have an opportunity like this again. Allow me to say some words to some folks who have had especially nice, profound impacts on me.

RandomHero - Fate brought you and I together. I just happened to read your story and I just happened to think it was swell. I like you kid/man/eh, so I hope you're still out there doing well. That would make me happy.

totallynotabrony - You're one of the earliest memories I have of this place. I remember you commented on Big Lugnut and something you said got me interested in your body of work. You made me realize I was among peers, fellow writers... not that I didn't think there were other writers. I just internalized what that meant. You're a cool dude, so stay cool.

The Psychopath - ... What can I say? You're a colorful character (no pun intended) with a passion for doing whatever the fresh heck you feel like. I've always wished I could've kept up with your stuff more than I did, but if I could have my wish I would be sitting in a chair instead of squatting on the floor right now. Don't change a thing.

CompleteIndifference - Ah, my faithful editor. I could thank you time and time again and you'd still be all modest and promise you'd do better next time. I couldn't have come across as an intellectual with any semblance of knowledge of the English language without your help. You yourself are an incredibly talented writer, I believe. I will always feel bad that I never showed you the kind of support you deserved or gave back for everything you've done for me. I hope life takes you places... not like it's taken me places. Places are better to be taken to without most of the crap I gotta deal with.

Herculean - Herc... Herc... Herc. I always said you'd make a good writer yourself, and now look at you. You've got your own account and story which I am sure is great. I'm working on printing it out so I can read it later. If it's anything like you've told me in the letters, it should be right up my alley. Stay real buddy, and I will have my revenge for this!

Lots of writers and readers alike made writing on FIMFiction so much fun; however, there is one stand-out fellow who has perhaps inspired and encouraged me more than anyone else throughout this whole thing. He is my hero and just thinking about what he might think of my writing makes me excited. He adored the first thing I wrote, even if I thought it wasn't so hot. He waved my flag when no one else wanted to. He is so much more established as a writer than I am, but my love for him exceeds my ability to be envious. Everything he writes is golden to me. I owe him my thanks, I give him my respect, and I am proud he likes my writing enough to share it.

I am of course talking about my own brother.

Even if he doesn't understand the whole brony and MLP thing, he's a writer and when he reads what I've written for FIMFic he gets over the whole pony thing and tells me beautiful lies about how good my stuff is. I really miss him while I'm going around doing my thing, but that's to be expected from two brothers who grow up.

Well, I'm not gonna let myself get all sappy on this! I have another train to get on in the morning and I really should get some sleep. I hope you enjoyed the chapters I put out there and I think I can say with certainty that my stories will be finished! Who knows what else you might see in the distant/near/your future.

Like the corniest supervillian you know, you haven't seen the last of me!

HLJ, you beautiful, beautiful man. How I will miss you...
Use your powers for good, and may the rails you travel be ever bright and fruitful.
It was a great honor to be your editor, and I hope you come to me for advice in the future. Who knows? I might even still be alive enough to give it.
Best of Luck,
Complete

I'm still not sure which is worse; the fact that there are 40-minute washing machine videos on YouTube, or that they have tens of thousands of views and a 90% positive rating.

Kind of mesmerizing, really.

Wait, this was your plan all along, wasn't it? I'm on to you, Maytag Man.

Until next time.

Glad to have you back for the short time it lasted.

See you around, Spaces Cowboy.

HoovesLikeJagger, thank you for everything you've done for me, not only the amazing artwork, but replying to any question I had about writing. While it sounds silly, when you first messaged me, I freaked out...a lot. A super famous author offering to help little old me? I was touched...later I was even more amazed that you offered to help with any problems I had with plots (the story kind mind you:pinkiehappy:) or listened to any still story ideas I had. While I don't consider myself to "famous" on any level, I have done the same thing you did, and approached new writers and gave them little nuggets of wisdom I've accumulated in my time here. Some of those authors are now dear friends...and its thanks to you they are in my life now. I hope that whatever you are doing, you are staying well and safe. Good luck with wherever you go from here.
