I know this is the first time I’ve addressed anything at all outside of a story. Don’t worry, I’ll try to keep it brief… though we all know how that always turns out, don’t we?
I don’t have a twitter account or a MySpace account. I’m not on Facebook or any of the other social networking sites that are super popular. I know that nobody responsible for creating the show will read this, but I’d still like to take a moment and say that I’m not worried about the future of the show.
There’s a lot of talent involved in making MLP:FiM. The fan community has grown huge, and that’s great, but lately there’s been a lot of negativity going around. I’m truly ashamed to say that I even bought into it a little bit. That was wrong. I’m very sorry. I’m still looking forward to the next season. I believe in the creative minds behind the show, and I know that they know what they’re doing.
I’m sure the next season will be awesome. According to an entry on EQD (which is what lead to this little soapbox speech) some of the good people at DHX have started to feel a little “disheartened” about the response to the upcoming movie. I hope they don’t think that the fandom doesn’t love them anymore. Some of us have been too harsh in our criticism of the show and the movie, and we really need to be more careful. It does no good to say we love a show and then completely ignore the lessons it tries to teach us.
So I guess that’s about it. I know the people behind the show won’t read this or anything, but I think it’s important to talk about this among ourselves. We need to remember that the creative team has given us something great, and they’ve more than earned our trust.
So, just in case reality has collapsed in on itself and someone on the creative team is (for some reason) reading the blog entry of a random fanfiction author… thank you. Thank you so much for creating something so great. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Oh, uh… your faithful fan, Twilight Sparkle?
No, no. That was a silly way to end this. Jeez. Maybe I’ll stick to writing fiction. On that note, look for my next story in a day or two!
… “I’ll try to keep it brief”. HAH.
Re: Equestria girls?
Cautious optimism. I am prepared for anything from to but I'm not going to be whatever happens.
