International Towel Day · 3:55am May 25th, 2013
Greetings all.
Today, May 25th is a very special day; A day of great significance and importance for people all around the world. Don’t Panic, it isn’t anything bad.
Today is International Towel Day, a day in which we honour the life and work of the late author, Douglas Adams and his opus magnum, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. This is the story that made his writing career and gave us all the final definitive answer to the ultimate question of Life, the Universe, and Everything: 42
International Towel Day is celebrated in a fairly easy manner. You just have to either have on you, or close by you, a towel. It doesn’t have to be a fancy towel, just a towel.
For more information on the practical use of towels in galactic hitchhiking, see this video.
Additionally, you might even want to check out the ponified adaption of the story: So long, and thanks for all the pony.

If you have the time, I reccomend that you check out the 2005 movie adaptation of the book, staring a plethora of veteran British actors such as Stephen Fry (Blackadder), Helen Mirren (The Queen), Alan Rickman (Harry Potter), and Martin Freeman (The Office). or better yet, actually read the book itself.
