Errors that Especially Evoke Emotions · 7:23pm May 26th, 2013
Well, I decided I was going to make a blog post about things in writing that just really get to me (and a bunch of you already know most of these because I edit for you... anyways), off we go.
1. Lead - Lead can be 2 different things: The present tense verb meaning "to guide someone", or the metal element of Lead, Pb, from the periodic table. If you are looking for the past tense of lead, that would be led.
I led them through the forest
NOT
I lead them through the forest
2. Pegasus as an adjective - When you use the word "pegasus" to describe something that is plural, you don't pluralize pegasus as well. For example, if you were to make "pegasus guard" plural, it becomes "pegasus guards" NOT "pegasi guards".
Basically, imagine if they you instead had a unicorn guard, and another one walked up, would there suddenly be unicorns guards? No, I don't think so.
Expect more in the future. I know there's more, and hey, maybe I'll actually make some blogs if I have a series to go along with.
With that said and done
Cheers,
Pissfer
