    A Final (Proper) Final Farewell

Well, it's finally arrived at the time I've been dreading for more than a few months now. I honestly thought, when I first made my account on fimfic, that I'd have this for a good few years and that it'd be a nice place for relaxing, meeting people and discussing stories, due to my growing fondness of creative writing and that sorta thing. Now, if you'll excuse me for a few minutes, I'm gonna go

To the Capitalist Pit of Sin (America)

Goin' on holiday for two weeks, not gonna be able to write very much unfortunately. Visitin' Florida, fuck yeah! Still, I managed to get two new chapters of TLB posted this week, and six chapters on another story. Also, Skype:

[02:43:00] Siewwa: Heh. Your money is weiiiiiiird...
[02:43:06] Siewwa: All same-shaped, and green...
    [02:43:18] twow443: Okay, that's really funny.

    Sierra Reads a Write

Ok, put simply, I've realised exactly how many good stories I've read in this fandom. Not enough! To be honest, I wanna read some of the more widely-known stories that everyone refers back to at some point or another. End of Ponies, Fallout: Equestria (and derivatives thereof), not Past Sins, uh... yeah, that's the extent of my literary knowledge within the fandom.

    Apologies

Well, I just wanna get started by apologising for my complete absense from FiMFic for the past few weeks. It was unavoidable, really; lots of work, moving house, some sickness... but still, I'm ready to get writing again. *glances at favourites list* Oh, and reading... yup. Got a few chapters already written for The Lost Battalion, a few almost finished for Brushy, an almost-finished SoL story

    A Server!? Also, Updates

So, a quick rundown on stories:

A-Level exams. So, story-writing is nigh-on impossibru. Well, I could, but I wouldn't have enough time to write anything decent. Therefore, I'm going to leave writing until I'm in a better position to do so.

A Final (Proper) Final Farewell · 2:17am May 28th, 2013

Well, it's finally arrived at the time I've been dreading for more than a few months now. I honestly thought, when I first made my account on fimfic, that I'd have this for a good few years and that it'd be a nice place for relaxing, meeting people and discussing stories, due to my growing fondness of creative writing and that sorta thing. Now, if you'll excuse me for a few minutes, I'm gonna go off on a nostalgia-fuelled trip down memory lane for no reason other than to lengthen this blog post (:3) and hopefully inspire motivate put the fear of god in you for becoming a failed author such as myself xD

Now, obviously I don't consider myself a failed author, per se, but there are still a fuck-ton of stories I've meant to write and finish. I could rattle off a list of excuses as to why they weren't finished, but that's not really gonna do much for either of us, is it? I truly am sorry for not finishing those stories, and for getting your imaginations prepared for chapters that never arrived. A few of them have done really well, namely Brushy, and some of the others were smaller but even closer to my heart. Reflections was written after a fierce argument between my mum and dad, and THLOD was written when I was going through a rough time at a new school. Sometimes, even understanding the context of the circumstances under the story was written can add a new element to the story. Hell, LotR is a good example of that. But seriously, not all of my stories got such good reviews!

The first time I made an account was after I read about seven different TCB fics and pretty much adored the HiE/TCB genre enough to have a stab at writing my own. Man, that was a bad idea. The ideas were all there, but the stories were 1k chapters of barely-comprehensible filth :) Ahh, happy memories... My first two stories, (lessee if I can remember the names...) TCB: Celestial Horizon was about a damaged carrier fleet assembled to house the remnants of humanity and to operate as a mobile general headquarters to which various installations could evacuate to. Damn, that took some head-scratching to recall that xD And on the subject of TCB, the strangely-infamous Chatoyance was the first people I spoke to on the site! As much as you might disagree with her ideas and thoughts on TCB, she was an awesome person to talk to, and really got me set up on the site. I went from having an equal balance of votes on my first story (12:10) to a slightly better (14:5) on my second story, and they seriously picked up thereafter!

Now, I could list off stuff like that for all my stories, but I don't wanna bore the hell out of you! I guess I can throw in a quick note about the groups I've been in/founded/helped, and some of the people that really mean a lot to me on this site. Groups first! Now, the Train Wreck Explorers, that was a fun ride :) As I'm sure most of you know (seeing as most of you are ex-TWE to some degree) the founding of the TWE was less than organised, and I was the bloke who ran in to form the group, mostly from my lil ol' opportunistic nature xD I mean, who would pass on being an admin in a collection of some of the loudest, most annoying, loveable people on the site at the time? The group was quiet for a few days and we, like naughty schoolboys, sprinted around from story to story posting the infamous Trains image on horrific stories, bad stories and even some mediocre ones that got hit by some of the more... feisty of us. People saw the trains, followed 'em back to the group and it literally exploded. I think we hit 200 members in a fortnight or two, and the train-posting was rampant! So, like the good little admin group we were, we decided to 'purge' the TWE in a Night-Of-Long-Knives-esque mass expulsion of every non-contributor from the group, followed by much stricter entrance policies and ranks for reviewers. I'm not gonna debate the effectiveness of these measures because that's not why I'm here, but that was one of the high points of my time on this site. People may dispute the overall effectiveness of the group, but I reckon I was a positive influence within the group. I posted a lotta reviews, I spoke privately to a lot of people, a lot of them improved and I sent a few strongly-worded messages to people about choice topics and I'm still in contact with some of them, which is nice :3

Finally, the people that have made this an awesome site for me!

Knighty
Lightpony: Despite all the shit that happened in the TWE, Lighty was a brilliant friend when I was a newb on the site, and we had some pretty fun debates about stuff over PM after we bumped into each other's stories, I believe!
LeafLock: On all of my stories, there is a damn awesome title on the artwork that is the brainpoop of this magnificent... leaf....lock. Seriously, I cannot thank ye enough for being a good friendo when I was new on the site, and even when I wasn't so new :3
CryHavoc: Now, I'm picking all these names off the top of my head, and if I got the first bit wrong, I'm sorry xD My awesome editor, for whom another chapter of Cold Steel never came :L I apologise for that, of course!
Chatoyance and the TCB Group: Despite all the flak you guys get, you're still brilliant people and you were damn supportive when I was a newb on the site!
The TWE: Well, everyone that's massively significant to me from the TWE is on my contacts list on Skype, so you all know how much you mean to me :3 <3

And I know there's loads of people I've missed there, but you guys were at the top of my mind :) So yeah, time for a final final final farewell, I guess xD Got a bit carried away with the nostalgia, and all... Well, keep doing what you're doing, guys. Being a fanfiction writer isn't easy, but you're positively influencing other peoples' lives by providing them with universes, plots, characters and ideas that can only be born of a proper member of the fandom :3 And.... I guess that's it! Now get outta here before I phone the cops!

Have a good one.

Take care man...

I wish you only the best. Thank you for your kindness.

- Chatoyance

Now it's time to start plotting a collab for me and Sierra to eventually write.

Don't be afraid to hit up this site later to show use some of your works.

Other than that, have thee a good one!

The TWE: Well, everyone that's massively significant to me from the TWE is on my contacts list on Skype, so you all know how much you mean to me :3 <3

:fluttershysad:

Seriously, bye dude. Wish you the best.

:pinkiesad2: Bye. :pinkiesad2:
Damn, with all the people that have left you'd think this would be easier to take...it isn't.:fluttercry::raritydespair::raritycry:

Seeya around. May the dirt under your paws always be stable

WHAT???? Wait what? No damn it! You're leaving the fandom or just fimfiction? Why oh WHy oh WHY????? Please tell me you at LEAST will be online to read stories and talk?

Are you just quitting fan fiction or leaving the site altogether?

Anyways, FYI, LightPony is now called Saint Whisper.

Dude... wait, what?

I guess it's time for a goodbye then... :pinkiesad2:
I was already wondering for a few weeks whether you've left altogether, or if you were just taking a prolonged break.

I'll remember you as the one who encouraged me to keep writing stories here after publishing the first ones on the site. And as my first follower too.

Well, I'll keep following you anyway, in case you happen to come back some day.

CYAAAAA
You won't escape
You'll be back later

1109472 Yup, altogether :twilightblush:
1109595 Well, I guess I shoulda seen that coming xD

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. And yeah, I am leaving altogether, because I'm about to set a password I don't know for the account, and the email doesn't exist so I can't reset it. Yay for overthinking stuff! But seriously, keep up the good work, everyone.

If you really wanna get hold of me, I'm always around on Skype (sierra_seven_), but I don't add contacts for the hell of it. It'd be a nice gesture, but unless you actually plan on talking frequently or whatever, I probably won't accept it :rainbowkiss: Farewell!

1109862 :fluttershysad: In that case, good luck and success to whatever endeavor you'll find yourself doing.

Fare thee well, olde friend, ye were a brilliant author and creator of my favourite group here on fimfiction (No, not TWE. The Saltblock!). May the will of the gods always be in your favor.
Jolly Roger

Toodles. Good luck with your life.

Well, everyone that's massively significant to me from the TWE is on my contacts list on Skype

:fluttercry:

See ya around, man.

XiF

Bye, dude. :applecry:
