Reflecting on my Path as a Fic Writer, So Far

It occurred to me a little while ago, while I was going through the favorites list of my first (and only) story so far, and sending out thank-you notes to everyone who clicked the star: I am part of an amazing, wonderful community. I mean, I've known that for a really long time, but you guys just continue to surprise me everyday. I mean you took me, a guy who hasn't done a lick of recreational writing since I was just out of high school (I just passed 26 a few months ago), and you favorited his very first FIMFiction en masse, to the point where it actually made it to the feature box for a few short hours:

I took a picture of my cellphone with my iPod because I didn't have computer access at the time and I wouldn't want to miss this for the world. I was so moved by all your kindnesses, and I wanted to take the time again, even though I just spent about a half hour doing this already, to thank you all for all you did.

So now, all I need to do is keep it up. So let me give you a quick story news break. At the moment, I'm taking a very short break from writing to focus more on my PMV editing. My youtube channel, if you haven't checked it out already, can be found here. Once I finish my next project, I'll come back and write the next chapter. I already have the next few planned out in my head, and I've taken some notes so I don't forget them; it's all just a matter of writing it out, and consulting with my wonderful team of editors.

Oh! And before I forget, there's one other fun little story I wanted to share with you about my fic. The description includes some fancy names for Snips and Snails, and I thought I did such a good job coming up with them on my own. Some people even commented that they loved the name "Pierre Escargot" for Snails, and would even use it the next time they had a chance. And I thought it was so clever, because what's fancier then French? And the French dish Escargot is basically snails. And Pierre's a great French name, voila, "Pierre Escargot". Well anyway, turns out it isn't as clever and original as I'd hoped, because guess who came up with that first:

Ah well. C'est la vie, I s'pose.
