Where you have to use thousands of polygons and mods to crash your computer, I only used about 8 polygons per unit, and 2d images for the lasers.
My computer sucks enough that even if I use the absolute WORST SETTINGS POSSIBLE for MINECRAFT, I still lag badly. It sucks. All I have left is my Xbox 360 and a classic Xbox I got when I was 5, brand new off the shelves for my birthday. I've used it so much, the disk tray broke, and the only way to play a different game is to pry open the drive with a fork, change the game, shove the drive in, turn off the console, and turn it on using the standard power button. Damn straight.
Edit: over the course of the last 9 years, I have actually destroyed the joysticks of three different controllers because of my insane yet skillful driving in rallisport challenge 2. Look it up on YouTube. A game is not good for it's graphics, but its gameplay.
