The Gunner was unstoppable on Tactics Advanced.
On A2, I preferred my usual strategy of Knight/Juggler. I had two Moogles, one Knight/Juggler and one Juggler/Thief. Knight tanks and the Juggler steals. Both can infinitely use Smile Toss.

Oh yea the juggler was excellent, I think he was like a ninja class like the human had right? O:
I usually went with Snipers Jugglers Gunners and Illusionists as my best team! :D
It was half unstoppable magic and half unstoppable physical damage dealers!
1283209 Ninjas were extreme damage dealers thanks to Dual Wield.
Jugglers tossed items around, causing status ailments. They also had a Smile Toss ability, which is a free Quick.
I liked having a Black Mage/Blue Mage, too. And an Assassin/Sniper (crazy combo, eh?).

I LOVED DUAL WIELD! ( and that combo is pretty good too!)
I used to use Blue Mage a lot but for some reason, yes it was powerful and all, it had only one reaction ability called "Learning" I'm STILL not sure what it was supposed to do >w<!!
1283450 If you're hit by a certain monster spell and you survive it, then you learn the ability and can use it using Blue Magic.
You need Reraise in order to learn Roulette, though.

It's like Blue Bullet Ability for Gun Mage, if the monster uses it on you, you copy it!?

1283490 I haven't played the PS2 titles, sadly.
The only problem with the Blue Mage is actually getting the monsters to attack them or hit them.
I can say, though, that one of the easiest Blue Magic spells to get (for me), was Sandstorm from the Antlions.
I'd also recommend eventually getting the Fairy Harp for your Beastmaster so that you can teach the Blue Mage Angel Whisper and White Wind. Angel Whisper in A2 isn't nearly as overpowered as in Tactics Advanced, as it cannot be used on the caster and can only be used on other allies.
Man, all this talk makes me want to start playing again, too.

An My beastmaster... (dang it I think I think i forgot to teach him the Beastmaster Combo in tactics! (>@.@<) ) So you can learn certain moves from your teammates as well!?

1283517 You can't learn moves from teammates, but a Beastmaster can force a monster into using the move on your Blue Mage, which really helps for support moves from Dragons and Pixies.

Sweet, so some monsters that are controlled by beastmasters can attack Blue mages to learn their moves that could prove useful later on >:3 got it! Yea and those dragons are srsly hard to end, they're too awesome. T: (I know, that's just an excuse, but they are a challenge!)
Ya know, thanks to you I finally figured that out, I might even put that second save file I had on Tactics and A2 to good use now!

Chocobos can be cute and feathery... but in EVERY game I've played they either managed to get away or I accidentally kill one. AH, the circle of FF life~ v3v

Fairies... they're the weak, but annoying creatures right o.e ( i haven't actually encountered much of them after the wholeTometa scenes lolz
My bad memory probably go rid of them.
1283652 They're weak, but they have Angel Whisper (weak healing with Reraise) and White Wind (Area of Effect heal for current HP of caster), which are extremely good for Blue Mages.
The problem right now is that I have to synch up it moving and my team moving…

Sry I fell asleep last night trying to look for my FF tactics, thnx to you I feel like starting it over again, and I'm gonna go for Angel Whisper and all of Blue Mage's other abilities!
1284555 I never knew I could be such an influence to somebody.
Also, if you have any trouble, all the abilities are on the FFWiki.
I remember that the three dragon buff/debuff abilities (Mighty Guard for ice; Guard-Off for Fire; the limited Dragon Force for Thunder. Due to the limited number of Thundrakes, you should get Dragon Force on the third major story boss, Adremmalech.), Goblin Punch (you have to get it early, as Goblins don't appear late game), Twister, and Matra Magic were also Blue Magic spells.
White Wind, Angel Whisper, Matra Magic, and the buffs were my most used ones.
Tactics A2 brought Quake and Sandstorm into the mix, which are also amazing abilities for the Blue Mage.
Roar is also a good one.
