Spends months putting together a 30k word story. Epic adventure and emotions that have to do with the mythology of equestria, original characters, original story, editing it, re-editing it, getting everything just write, 300 views, 5 comments, as of a year ago.
Spends a few days putting together some rough chapters for a mass effect cross, released them a few days ago. Over 500 views, 20 comments.

It's sad, but on this site crossovers get a lot attention than a original stories. Same goes for clop fics too
I wouldn't say that every viewer on this site has no interest in reading something that's nearly entirely new, where they have to visualize more of the world and new characters and what not, but a great deal of them only seek stories they can relate with... or they can clop to. On Fimfic, it's all about getting as many reader's attention as quick as you can, and it really, really sucks that that's how it all works out.
