    New Story, New Me

As you might be aware, The Sequel to The Man With Two Names has just been published. Well, the first chapter, anyways. I know that I said that I was going to try to write it all at once, but that was not a good idea. Between college, and that huge intimidating writing task, I was paralyzed by procrastination, and it suddenly became easy to avoid this daunting task in favor of other

After the fact blog post + sequel information

I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for their readership, their comments and feedback. All the critiques, both praise and criticisms have helped me grow as a writer, to understand what works and what doesn't. I also must thank you all for your patience, especially those few who first caught onto the story when I published the first chapter two years ago.

Welp, here we go

Cold Spike:

When will The Mane With Two Names end?

Well, hrmm. That invites two different answers, and I'll provide both. The storyboard calls for a total of 18 chapters, and we are on the twelfth, I believe. So six chapters left
in terms of time till completion, that's a bit harder to say The next two chapters are mostly written, and in need of serious editing. They should be up within a couple weeks. I forecast that the entire story will be up and completed by the time winter break is over, but my forecasts are never accurate.

“I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.” Quoth Douglas Adams,

Advent Armalite:

Do you play the Walking Dead, and if so, who's your favorite character?  If you don't, then who would win in a fight, Tupac Shakur or a dragon?

Carley, She's such a boss, whether in combat or refusing to put up with Lily's shit. Side note: will never forgive Lily for killing Carley. Seriously, what the fuck? No amount of shipping fics will change that. Molly is a close second, because I think she has a moral core that really shown when she refuses to get a ride on the boat. Also parkour. I guess I like the way telltale games makes such interesting women characters.

Also, depends on the size of the dragon, but my gut tells me Tupac.

Mercgilado:

Have you ever played Mario Party?
Also, who's your favorite pony that isn't a Main Six, a princess or CMC?

I've played mario party, or at least, a couple different versions. I don't care much for it, to be honest. I'm more of a fallout/elderscrolls/bioshock sort of dude.

As for ponies, if I limit myself to canon characters, I would have to say Cheerilee. No wait Flitter. I don't know, I just really like their color schemes.

Cheerilee is great because of the hearts and hooves day episode, if only for that moment when she actually gets bothered by the fact that the CMC point out she doesn't have a special somepony, like she knows she shouldn't be bothered by it, but she is anyways.

I like the idea of a cheery schoolteacher that has her classroom together, but is still trying to assemble the rest of her life. I feel like outside of her timeless patience for foals, she's got a dry wit she brings out when she's put outside her comfort zone.

Flitter is just adorable, and I think she has a couple of funny moments. Headcanon: a bit of a gullible ditz.

My reasons for preferring Cheerilee seem a bit more justified, so I'll pick her as my favorite. Flitter can be second.

HoneyMead: well, you asked a lot of questions, so I just picked a few ones I had good/funny answers to.

If you had to choice, would you?

Most definitely possibly

Do you read the comics?

Heck yeah! My friends got me the compilation of main six's microseries, and the nightmare Rarity arc for my birthday. I don't think the Nightmare Rarity one really stood up to the Chrysalis arce, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless, especially the Gravity falls reference.

Overall, I find the comics to be superbly entertaining, and they take a slightly different tone than the show, which is a nice change of pace. For the most part, there's a lot more humor, references, world building, and continous, evenly paced stories. It's nice because the one weakness of the show is they have to cram plot into twenty minute chunks, where they seem to have more space to pan out on the pages of a comic books. I highly recommend reading them if you at all enjoy My little pony.

Still waiting to get my hands on “zen and the art of gazebo repair”

tailz:

Do you watch wrestling?
What's your favorite HIE?

Don't watch wrestling much. I saw one thing, where one of the wrestlers was in a wheel chair, and the other wrestler tried to wheel him down a flight of stairs, only to have him jump out of chair last moment and body slam him.
I don't really get wrestling.

As for my favorite HIE, I think that would be Hands. But I kind of stopped reading after the main character started dating both Twilight and Fluttershy. That part kind didn't sit right with me. But before that it was really funny, and a humorous take on slice of life, HIE. It was actually part of the inspiration for Man With Two Names.

TrackingTarget:

Best pony, worst pony, and the inspiration for Man With Two Names. While I'm at it, favourite video game (current or all-time, doesn't matter) and why.

Bestpony: gypsy/orphan pinkie, a la friendship is witchcraft.

Worst pony: babs seed. Because karma houdini tendencies and a weird character design.

The inspiration for Man with Two Names? Oh, thats a long list. I'll give you the highlights

Fan fictions

miscellaneous bad HIE's: seeing humans instantly befriend ponies fed the part of my soul that loathes human happiness, and drove me to write something where human acceptance was turned on its head.

Hands: for showing me that Slice of Life Hie's can work, and gave me springboard for my story;

Finding your melody: for mute Lyra
and a couple of more spoilerific inspirations that I won't mention.

Not fanfiction:

Parade(musical): this is sort of an obscure musical, but the general gist is that around 1900 there was a jewish man from Brooklyn by the name Leo Frank living in Atlanta georgia, who was accused of raping and murdering a little girl. Witnesses were bribed to testify against him, and the whole town was in uproar, he was sentenced to death, but his wife managed to get him pardoned to a life sentence. Of course, the town found out about this, and the Klan broke him out of prison and lynched him. This is based on a true story.

its a great (but depressing) work of art because of the jingoism of the south, and the way the city whips itself into a frenzy. also bigotry.
It was this sort of music that got me able to imagine what it was like for an entire town calling for your blood.

Invisible Man: for the flavor of oppression and having an identity imposed onto you.

Richard the Third, Othello: mostly for Lucky being over dramatic, and being all out villainous.

Favorite video game is Fallout 3, because I love the atom punk post Apocalypse setting so much. It so creative and rife with possibilities. Although I recently got New Vegas and all of the DLC so that may change.

Well, that was fun, I'm going to go play new vegas and hide from people for a bit. Then writing. Expect the next chapter out within a week or so!
Enjoy the holidays, and all that jazz

New Vegas is so good, as much as I liked Fallout 3 I think New Vegas is better.

Molly is my favorite character, next to Lee of course. Have you played the second season yet?
