It's Been Quite A Year · 12:05am Dec 27th, 2013
Greetings friends. I left it quite late into the day to make this post but seeing as I started it at five minutes to midnight, it counts even if I published it after midnight technically passes. Plus for most of you it IS still the 26th of December. It's known as Boxing Day here (and in Canada I'm told) but is just a Thursday for most of you. Today isn't just any Thursday for me though. It's been one whole year since I joined Fimfiction and really became a brony.
I was watching the show for a few months before I started reading fanfics but I avoided the community. I watched the show on youtube and those comments freaked me out. I've come to accept that those people exist but hey, they aren't really the majority of us. Bronies are pretty awesome. Me being one definitely helps. As I said, it wasn't just when I joined Fimfiction but really became a brony. That was when I really came into the fandom as a whole. I joined forums and listened to music and just threw myself into it.
A few months after that, I got an idea for a story and I was talked into it by Psp7Master. Without him, I wouldn't have even written anything. It got received pretty well and it was a pretty great feeling.
Then...well then things didn't go so good for me. I had grand plans that fell through and I was left feeling pretty pathetic and useless. Instead of wallowing in pity, I chose to write my feelings out and what we got was an amazing story. That in turn lead to the grandest and longest story I've ever written. Now I'm dwindling down as far as writing fanfiction goes, but I'm still writing regular fiction and I hope to still come by here some day. Now I've finally stopped writing it, I can go back to enjoying fanfiction.
Here's to you guys. Without you, there would be no me, and that would be pretty sad for all involved. Words can't express what this site, this show, and this fandom have done for me. I'll leave you with the closing line from the one and only pony podcast I ever listened to; Stay pony my friends.
