Happy New Year, everypony!
Yeah, I know I'm a week late with that, for which I apologise, but I've been more than a little busy the past two weeks. I hope you all had some wonderful holidays, nice presents, happy times and that a good 2014 lies in store for you. Speaking of which, now that we're starting - or started, whatever - a new year, I feel now would be a good time to talk a bit about what I have planned for this year.
First of all, as a late new year's present to my readers, I've just now posted the longest chapter I have ever written. The final chapter of The Siege of Stalliongrad is finally finished, so head over here to read chapter 40 of Wings of Tomorrow ~ Lament of the World, "Ceasefire". I hope you all enjoy it and that the mini-arc was to your liking. It was the first time I ever wrote a war of this scale and I certainly learned a lot writing it and I can only hope that the end result managed to deliver.
Now that this mini-arc is over, you might be wondering what will come next. I can tell you now that you can expect to see the plot moving forward quite a bit in the coming chapters. How has the war and what they have seen during it affected the Mane Six? How will the Nobles' Court respond to the outcome of the battle? What has the High Chancellor been up to while Rainbow Dash and the others were fighting for their lives? All that and more will be answered in the coming chapters. I would also like to add that these chapters will likely not reach the colossal length the war chapters did, so hopefully that means I can get them out sooner. The last bit of news I want to give regarding future chapters of Wings of Tomorrow ~ Lament of the World is this:
2014 will be the year of Celestia.
It has been longed, wished and prayed for and this year it will finally happen. Somewhere during this year, the Solar Princess will finally be released from her prison. How will that come to be and who will be the one to do it? When will it be and what will happen once it has been done? The only way to find out is to continue following the story, so please look forward to it!

That is all as far as news regarding that story goes, so let me talk for a moment about what else I have planned for the coming year. Though Wings of Tomorrow ~ Lament of the World WILL remain my main project, you might also be seeing some other stories from yours truly. I have some ideas for a few one-shots in mind that I would love to write, as well as ideas for some smaller side-stories I might work on alongside Lament. I've decided to go ahead with this because I realised that if I have to wait until that one is finished before starting anything new, I'll be waiting for years. Lament is simply that big of a story that requires that much time. Now, don't get me wrong, I like working on it, but sometimes one just needs to be able to work on something else for a spell.
Which doesn't mean that I will be posting new stories, only that there is a chance I might. It depends on how much time and inspiration I have. Now, as I mentioned before, I do have a few ideas for other stories, but ideas need to be refined into a proper plot and for the moment none of them have gotten that far just yet. Just in case some of you are curious as to what ideas I have, I'll give a brief summary down below and then you can just tell me if you'd like to see it become a story or not!
- Idea 1: Twilight Sparkle and the Behemoth's Curse. While chasing a strange creature out of the Everfree Forest, Twilight Sparkle gets bitten and becomes cursed! Now, every night, she changes into a were-Behemoth. Together with Princess Celestia, she sets out to find a cure for her condition before she transforms into a Behemoth-pony forever.
- Idea 2: A crossover with Final Fantasy XIV. Garuda, Lady of the Vortex, Banshee Queen, Mistress of the Wind. Through a twist of fate, the most bloodthirsty, insane and feared of all Primals winds up in Equestria. A confrontation with the Elements of Harmony and the Princesses renders the savage being both mortal and powerless. Can the Mane Six introduce the fallen goddess to the wonders of life and the magic of friendship?
-Idea 3: A romance story with clop, involving Celestia. I personally don't have anything against clop and I've been eager to test my skills writing it for some time now. I have a lot of ideas for setting, tone and pairing, I just need to pick one. This is probably the most likely story to get written.
Well, those are the ideas. As I said, just because I'm toying around with them in my head doesn't mean they'll actually get written. They're just ideas for now, nothing more. Even should one of them become more, my main project will still be Wings of Tomorrow ~ Lament of the World. So if you're worried that these ideas might detract from updates on Lament, there's no need! I will continue work on that story as usual, regardless of any other projects I might fire up.
