New School of Hard Knocks chapters! · 8:21pm Jan 26th, 2014
Hi, all!
In order to avoid giving my readers a bad case of cliffanger-idis, I'm dropping chapters 18-20 all at once, and today is the day!
Chapter 20 sets the record for longest chapter in this story by far. I debated chopping it into 2, but I thought it worked better as one big chapter.
For the rest of the story, there will be at least one more chapter to wrap things up... though, with the way that one is growing, I may actually divide that one into two. Then there will be an epilogue. So, we're definitely in the home stretch!

One thing that bugs me at this point, Cinnamon knows about the Ponyville spa having a cure for poison joke, so why didn't he inform any of the police force of it's existence? Surely once the criminals had been captured, and Mulberry saved, he'd have the foresight to inform them, and his speech about how he'd just rejoin the police force when he's older doesn't make much sense from this perspective.

1762311 That wasn't on his mind at all, he wanted to save Mullberry. After the raid he was mentally exhausted and was mulling things over (plus the whole "shit, my life was just in real danger" thing). Plus it's not like that isn't playing out in the background.

I was pretty surprised when I realized how long chapter 20 was only published. It's not tiring at all, because it's safely the one chapter WHEN STUFF HAPPENS.
In hindsight, I feel it could have been split in two, but not without some serious rearranging, and since you decided to publish it all at once, it wouldn't be worth the trouble at all.
