For everyone that know Pokémon, the Pokémon creatures are perceived as cute and cuddly creatures. So, how could such a wildly popular, kid-friendly franchise be anything but cheerful? If only all those unwitting people knew what horrors awaited their children in the untamed wilderness that is the Pokémon universe.

Top 10 Creepiest Pokédex Entries · 7:50pm Feb 9th, 2014

For everyone that know Pokémon, the Pokémon creatures are perceived as cute and cuddly creatures. So, how could such a wildly popular, kid-friendly franchise be anything but cheerful? If only all those unwitting people knew what horrors awaited their children in the untamed wilderness that is the Pokémon universe.

It's a world much like ours for every adorable entity found in nature, there are dozens of vicious predators and revolting parasites skittering through the environment's dark underbelly. Those who take the time to read over the Pokédex entries will find some truly grotesque, disturbing, and all-around skin-crawling behaviors that are central to the lives of seemingly inconspicuous pocket monsters.

Just in case you have been living under a rock for the past 15 years or so, Pokémon is a series, where people can catch over 600 monsters and force them to battle each other, or alternatively participate in contests, musicals or even sporting events with them etc.

In this mass of miniature beasts, there are some down right creepy and weird Pokémon, that clearly got under some censors radar for whatever reason. So, here are the most disturbing Pokémon entries in existence.

10. Drowzee

Pokédex entry in Silver: "It remembers every dream it eats. It rarely eats the dreams of adults because children’s are much tastier."

To start the list it's Drowzee is already pretty freakish, what with his articulated snout and two-tone hide. But the idea of him savoring a child's dreams makes our toes curl into tightly clenched spirals. Imagine that thing, eating a dream, rolling it around in his mouth, really sucking the juices out.

All with this unsettling smirk on his face it's horrible, and Pokémon barely touch humans specially children at all but one that does seem to, though, is a Drowzee, which apparently wanders around the neighborhoods and eats dreams of the children.

And when the dreams of children are gone, they can only be replaced with nightmares. Although when you live in a world where psychic tapirs are devouring your dreams, it's hard to imagine anything more nightmarish than that!

---------------------------------

9. Litwick

Pokédex entry in White: "While shining a light and pretending to be a guide, it leeches off the life force of any who follow it."

Litwick is so cute that you wouldn't expect it to be scary, but not let that fool you. Because as it guide you by using the light on it's head. While it is "guiding" you, it sucks away at your life force and slowly eats your soul. So, whatever you do, don't follow the light it the last thing you will do!

---------------------------------

8. Gourgeist

Pokédex entry in Pokémon X: "Singing in eerie voices, they wander town streets on the night of the new moon. Anyone who hears their song is cursed." in Pokémon Y entry: "It enwraps its prey in its hairlike arms. It sings joyfully as it observes the suffering of its prey."

Nothing is safe in this world in case that wasn't already super clear in the first place and soon you will find out why! What about a evil pumpkin ghost Pokémon that wraps its appendages around living beings and SINGS JOYFUL SONGS as whatever poor creature suffer a miserable life.

Also walking around on a town, city or whatever place cursing people with it's song, and what curse you ask? Well, I don't have a clue but it a curse so it can't be that good. I would never wish strangled by a ghost-plant who was humming songs or be curse either.

---------------------------------

7. Jellicent

Pokédex entry in Black: "The fate of the ships and crew that wander into Jellicent's habitat: all sunken, all lost, all vanished."

So, you want to know what really happened with the Titanic and how hundreds of people died on it? Cause they got on this jelly's turf and sunk the un-sinkable and so, it was not an iceberg who destroy the Titanic.

Seriously, the people of the Pokémon World can't either enjoy some vacation without a Pokémon sunk them to the ocean. The next thing we need is a Pokémon who cause Airplane accidents.

---------------------------------

6. Mismagius

Pokédex entry in Diamond: "Its cries sound like incantations. Those hearing it are tormented by headaches and hallucinations."

This effect suggests a hostile, nearly unlivable world filled with terrifying creatures. A single Mismagius causing grief out there or there's probably hundreds of them floating around, apparently sending untold numbers of people into fits of hysteria.

Where are all of these people in the games? Did they all leap from cliff tops in a desperate attempt to escape their mental pandemonium? Seriously, this world it's so messed up!

---------------------------------

5. Banette

Pokédex entry in Black 2 and White 2: "A doll that became a Pokémon over its grudge of being thrown away. It seeks the child who disowned it."

What the Pokédex is really telling you is that a discarded doll managed to animate itself through pure force of will, brought to life solely by vengeful malice. And now its basically a voodoo doll as he poked pins into his own body to make the person who thrown away to suffer.

If his hateful eyes and zipper-toothed grin weren't terrifying enough, consider this tidbit from Pokémon Ruby: "Banette generates energy for laying strong curses by sticking pins into its own body."

One can only wonder what kind of acupuncture-induced agony will befall Banette's previous owner should he manage to finally track them down. So, if you live on the Pokémon World and you have children with dolls you want to check them more often.

---------------------------------

4. Lampent

Pokédex entry in Black 2 and White 2: "The spirits it absorbs fuel its baleful fire. It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on."

So, when you die or a friend or a family member die, does their soul ascend to heaven? Well, according to this Pokedex entry no. It serves as nothing more than a mid-afternoon snack for this living light fixture. Imagine lying on your death bed, looking with dread and hatred at a lone Lampent gently hovering outside of your window.

There is no great beyond and there is only the nothingness that comes after your spirit burns in Lampent's flames like dry leaves in a furnace. Much of the afterlife is a mystery in the world of Pokémon as Pokémon never die with few notable exceptions but yet there's entire category of Ghost-type Pokemon.

But humans present the biggest question as there don't appear to be any human graveyards, almost no human hospitals what's happening there? Well, since this lamp-Pokémon are stealing human souls and using them as fuel to burn their ever present flames.

It maybe makes sense that humans don't want to think about the afterlife. Also, these Pokémon hanging around on the hospitals, waiting for people to die, and now I know why hospitals are scarce in the Pokémon World.

---------------------------------

3. Gorebyss

Pokédex entry in Sapphire: "Although Gorebyss is the very picture of elegance and beauty while swimming, it is also cruel. When it spots prey, this Pokémon inserts its thin mouth into the prey's body and drains the prey of its body fluids."

You know, the animal kingdom of Pokémon is filled with messed up way for each Pokémon to kill one another but what Gorebyss does, though, is something special. It literally drains you of all your bodily fluids, leaving you a dried out husk.

Luckily, this is just happening to other Pokémon, right? Well, keep in mind that when you encounter a wild Pokémon, they're not attacking your Pokémon initially but they're attacking you.

So, then you throw out your Pokémon to defend yourself, and that mean if you one were to be attacked by a Gorebyss and didn't have any Pokémon on them at the time, you'll be pretty much screw up.

But also the term prey could mean anything to human or Pokémon. So, that mean that this Pokémon hunt whatever it come a crosses.

---------------------------------

2. Duskull

Pokédex entry in Platinum: "It loves the crying of children. It startles bad kids by passing through walls and making them cry."

OK, first why does a kids series have a Pokémon that loves to make kids wet their pants? Second, why is a Pokémon so merciless that it likes to make little kids cry? And since it can pass through walls, there's no escaping it.

Are you sure this series it's for kid? Oh well, the dex tell us that "It startles bad kid" so it mean evil kids are not save. So, if you kids was bully by someone just catch a Duskull to teach that bully a lesson!

---------------------------------

1. Phantump

Pokédex entry in Pokémon Y: "According to old tales, these Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost in the forest."

This is in my number one for good reason, it's because this Pokémon entry it's pretty much Game Freak saying "Right on your childhood". I mean what a kind of entry like this mention about children dying on a series that it so be for kids?!

Some people will say that a Trevenant kill children in order to create more Phantump to create more Trevenant but I read Trevenant's entry and it only harms these who harms the forests so I don't think Trevenant harms children in the first place.

The talent on children dying as they walk on the forests and get lost they could die because starvation, and for hydration no because some Pokémon kill them. Also the entry it's for a old tales so it possible the parents back then make this tales to keep children away for the forests.

But the entry it's creepy enough for a children series like Pokémon that just a messed up. But, also Phantump also kind of reminds me of Skull Kids from the Zelda series, and I like it nice job Game Freak nice job.
