    Tonight

    Pretty gut-wrenching night.

Take care of each other, everyone. Be kind, be nice, try to counteract any hatred you see with love. When they go low, keep going high. Because it's the only way to make it through the next few years.

    This isn't goodbye

So I figured I should give everyone a big update on where I’ve been, the lack of communication, what my life is like, things like that. Maybe get a snack, there’s probably going to be a lot of text. But I'll at least put in a few pictures of ponies to break things up a bit.

    Quick notes

Just thought I'd pop in and say a few very quick things:

-The final chapter of Of The Night will be published at the same time as the Epilogue. So there's two chapters left, Chapter 9 and Epilogue, but they'll be up at the same time.

More In-Depth ETC Update/What Comes Next/Wrestlemania Spoiler · 4:02am Apr 7th, 2014

Alright, let’s have a longer blog-style typing-thing!

So as I said last night, ETC Chapter 17: It Ends… is now in the hands of the editors. This is the longest chapter of ETC, as it pretty much had to be.

We are right on the cusp of the end of ETC. There will be one more chapter, then the Epilogue. HOWEVER, there is a chance I will break up that “one more chapter” into two, depending on how long it runs/what my editors have to say. We’ll see what happens, really.

As I come close to finishing ETC, I sorta look back to nearly 2 years ago when I began it. My goal with ETC was to make it my opus; the biggest creative project I had ever done. I only hoped that the reaction it got would live up to my own expectations. And damn if it didn’t do exactly that. All the comments, all the thumbs up, all the ratings, all the favorites… it really means so much to me to see a project like this have taken off the way it did.

I know that some people have had issues with the direction ETC went in on occasion, but of course, you can never please all the people all the time. What’s important to me is that the story gave you SOME kind of reaction.

We still got a bit to go, though. ETC ain’t done yet. I look forward to presenting everyone with the last two (or possibly 3) chapters, which includes the epilogue.

I also want to apologize for the delay. The plan really was to get this out a lot quicker than previous chapters. However, something happened that basically shut me down for a good solid week. Basically, a job that I thought was mine, that everyone told me was mine, that the interviewers set me up for for it being mine, turned out to not be mine. I still have a job for the next few months, but it’s just a contract position. That’s all the detail I want to get into for now, but suffice to say, it had me down for a while, and in no mood to write. Thanks for your patience, I’m feeling a lot better.

Now then…. WHAT COMES NEXT.

I have been writing the same story for nearly 2 years now. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed every minute of writing it, but after so long of working on it, you really start to crave something new. The original plan was to go straight from that into another longer story, but I just don’t think I can do that yet.

So once ETC is over, I think I’m going to switch over to a few one-shots that I’ve wanted to work on for quite some time. Just start getting some new, fresh ideas out there and seeing what happens. I do have a multi-chapter story idea as well, but it’s a much more lighthearted, silly story that won’t require as much thought as ETC does. Once I get a few of those out, I’ll make my decision on which story I want to work on next.

That’s about all I had to talk about… Wrestlemania just ended, one of the best WMs i’ve ever seen. And while I can celebrate Daniel Bryan winning the belt or the awesome show from top to bottom, instead I need to mourn the loss of the greatest streak in professional wrestling history.

RIP Undertaker's Wrestlemania Streak. 21-1. An accomplishment that will never be matched in the world of wrestling.

Heh, it has definitely triggered a reaction at times, speaking as one of those who occasionally reacted. It is pretty impressive how much discussion the story has generated.

fucking missed that. And one of the pony livestreams were actually streaming it too. I should of put a sticky note on my TV :pinkiesad2:

Missing my idol's 22nd and possibly last Wrestlemania os pretty disheartening. I just hope it wasn't too scripted looking. They been meaning to pass on his torch to a new generation for some time now. Anyhow time to go hunt a video down.

So once ETC is over, I think I’m going to switch over to a few one-shots that I’ve wanted to work on for quite some time.

Is one of those a sequel to "No Destiny" by any chance?:rainbowkiss:

I know how it feels going into a story for the long haul. At least I can say that I finished at least one story that I really put a lot of effort into. There's nothing quite like that feeling, and I'm glad you're close to experiencing it too.

That said, what is up with Undertaker losing to a screechy dudebro like Brock Lesnar?

No Destiny will NOT be getting a one-shot sequel.

That's because if I choose to revisit No Destiny, it will be transforming what exists now into a longer, multi-chapter story.
