Sometimes, we put on a mask to hide our true feelings. Sometimes, we wear them for far too long and we forget who we are underneath. A story about a troubled stallion and his descent into madness. All in all, it was just a brick in the wall.

    Bricks in the Wall Artwork

So, way back in the good old days of 2015, when I still completely intended to actually finish the last chapter of Bricks in the Wall, I ended up doodling some art of Pink one day. This quickly grew into something much more elaborate, I intended it to be posted with the last chapter, and then I completely forgot about it. Time passed, seasons changed, everyone grew older, 2016 came, and I

    Two-Thousand and Seventeen

Well everyone, it’s a new year. The last year was a much better year for me than 2015, all things considered, especially here on this site. I (sort of) finished up a story of mine that I’ve been working on since 2012, and started and completed three entirely new stories, one of which quickly became my most popular, briefly made it into the featured box, and

Some Sad News about Bricks in the Wall

I don’t know quite how to say this, so I’ll just put it bluntly. I’m not going to be finishing Bricks in the Wall. I’m so completely over it at this point.

An Update on Stories (feat. Bricks in the Wall)

So, how’s everyone doing? Hopefully everyone’s well. This year’s already been a lot better than the last one for me at least.

I just wanted to do a quick update on some of the stories that are going to be coming out the rest of the year for all those who care, as well as give an update on Bricks in the Wall, so let’s just get into it.

Is There Anybody Out There? - Two Years of Bricks in the Wall · 6:18pm Apr 8th, 2014

It was April 8th, 2012 when I first posted the very first chapter of my very first story here on Fimfiction to a handful of views and a moderate four likes. At the beginning, I had every intention of getting a chapter out every week, and for the second chapter, I managed to keep to that schedule. But then the week for the next chapter came and went, and that plan got thrown out and several months became the norm between each chapter.

What began as a small tribute to my favorite album quickly became something a lot in depth and complicated. Chapters became longer, intricate, and in some cases, unconventional. But I pressed on, and now, two years, one brief feature, a lot of support and attention, and three pieces of cover art later, I am almost sort of finally done with this story.

That being said, I have about zero progress done on the next chapter, because I’ve been going back and forth over what to do and it’s ultimately just left me staring at a mostly empty page for a while now. So, no prediction as to when that’ll be done.

I do hope to at least finish this story by this year. I really hope. Hopefully, I can cooperate with myself and get the last four chapters out by 11:59:59, December 31st, otherwise you may see a Three Years of Bricks in the Wall blog post update on your respective electronic device(s) on this day next year.

But, when everything is done and finished, I will be releasing an extensive author’s notes/chapter-by-chapter, song-by-song analysis/rambling explanation of the challenges in making The Wall’s rather ambiguous songs into a coherent story for those who are interested. Bricks and Mortar: The Trials and Tribulations of Rebuilding The Wall will be the final brick in the wall for this story.

Big thanks to everyone who has been here since the beginning and supported this all the way, all those who just started reading, and my fantastic editor MrPockets. You all are great. Hopefully I can finish this story soon.

Shouldn't that be, "11:59:59"? Or am I just completely crazy here?

You saw nothing.

You left a giant wall of invisible white bricks at the end. Amusing, even if a bit pretentious... :trollestia:

That said, I've been planning to read this for some time now, but never could get around to doing so. Well, that, and the 144k+ word count kinda discouraged me next to all the other stuff I'm trying to keep up with... :derpyderp2:

However, since one of my recent findings has apparently abandoned its original dark tone and replaced it with a "sappy happy ending," I'm in the mood for delving into bleak depths once more. Surely I can't go wrong with something inspired by The Wall, of all things... :duck:

Well, either way, I applaud you.

You've done an excellent job (and yes, I have read every chapter)

It's a pretty solid read, especially the later chapters.
And, well, if you don't start reading it now, it's only going to get longer.

It's been a great ride so far, and I can't wait for the finale!
