    Mistakes were made.

Familiarity chapter 11 keeps causing problems. I sat down the day before yesterday with the goal of pushing it a bit further to completion, and when I looked everything over I realized I'd made a terrible mistake in the planning.

    Belated Familiarity Update.

So, Familiary has been on hiatus for way longer than I hoped it would. Unfortunately, this is not very surprising considering my non-existent work ethic, incredibly fickle muse, short attention span and tendency towards procrastination. Don't get me wrong, when I do write I tend to write quite a lot. I just wish I was capable of being in that mindset for more than just, like, two months a year.

    Familiarity status update.

Well, I finished publishing act 1 of Familiarity, but I'm now out of chapters so continuing the previous update schedule is currently impossible. As such I've put the story on hiatus for now. I still don't know how much of act 2 I will bother to write before I continue. Ideally I would like to complete a decent number of chapters and continue like I have so far, but if the writing progress takes

    Familiarity, chapter 10.

In which Fang faces a terrible monster, a broken bond is mended, Rainbow does something stupid, and a rumor begins to make the rounds in Ponyville.

    TFamiliarity
Scootaloo's life changes forever when she meets Fang, a strange magician who is not what she seems. As the two grow closer, secrets are revealed. What does it mean to be a familiar?

A quick update regarding Time Crusade. · 6:43pm Apr 15th, 2014

So, I know what some of you might be thinking: "Where the hell is the next Time Crusade chapter, Fervidor? It's been five months, goddammit!"

At least that's what I hope you're all saying, because otherwise you've probably given up on me by now.

Well, the good news is that chapter 3 is very close to being finished. The bad news is that it has been close to being finished for a while now. For some reason I'm just not writing very fast these days, so the progress is excrutiatingly slow. My best estimate is that we're looking at a couple more weeks before the whole thing is done.

Now, what I could do is cut the chapter in half and post the first part right away, and then post the second part as chapter 4 once it's done. This would result in two chapters at roughly 5k words each, as opposed to the 10k chapter I am currently looking at. I normally don't do this because I have rather specific opinions on how each chapter figures into the over-all structure of the story. Then again, I do feel bad about leaving everyone hanging for so long and I dare not test your patience much further.

At this point I'm undecided. Do feel free to leave a comment letting me know which you'd rather see.

Well firstly I'm happy to know that the story is not dead.:pinkiehappy: and I think that it would be easier nd more continent for the readers if it were 5k instead of 10k. But how you do it is up to you. Anyways I'm glad for the status update and don't mind waiting a little while, so you can finish.

Best of luck writing

I personally vote for keeping it as a single chapter. I'm eager to keep reading, but I'd rather wait a bit more than have you compromise the quality of the final product. As long as we know you're still around, we can be patient for however long it takes you to keep up the great work

As long as you're working on it and it's not dead, I'm cool. Just means I'll have to re-read the first chapters to catch back up.

Although, if this is gonna be the norm—epic wait times between chapters—I may have to sadly shuffle this to the long list of fics I'm waiting to finish before I read...

I'd actually prefer two smaller chapters than one large one, but it's up to you.

I've never been a very fast writer, sad to say. The main reason I got the second chapter up so quickly was because most of it was already written by the time I published the first one.

That said, it varies a lot depending on my motivation, health, how well I sleep at night, and what's going on in my life at the moment. I do have periods where I write quite a lot.

Alas, 2014 has so far been unusually unproductive.

Two parter would be great, I really miss this story!:pinkiehappy:

As long as it will actually make it to the screen, then I'm willing to wait.

I vote for shorter chapters. Long wait times don't bother me much because I have a pretty good memory, but reading things over ~8k words seems to put a strain on my internet-age addled attention span, :applejackconfused:

I'd judge it mostly based off of how it works as a piece; I certainly wouldn't mind a shorter chapter that got here quicker, but if the story work better other wise, I can wait.

Just so long as it comes out I'm good either way

I feel that it would work okay as a two parter, in terms of structure, though the first half is mostly just setting up the second one, which has all the action and new characters and plot-important reveals.

On the other hand, it's a pretty eventful chapter and I suspect splitting it might make it easier to digest for some of you.

Just take as long as you need I'll still be here waiting to read it.

Frankly, I am really enjoying this fic so far, seeing as includes so many things that you wouldn't see in other fics and at the same time includes many aspects that I really enjoy, like Spikebelle, Future Crusaders with Spike included, as well as confusing time travel (I'm a Doctor Who fan, so I love that stuff :twilightsheepish: )
Anyway, seeing as there aren't that many fics like that, I guess it should be done right, even if sadly we would have to wait, but it's really your call on what you think is best.
Glad to see the fic isn't dead, looking forward to any future updates :pinkiehappy:

You have to continue on your own pace. I think that you have your undestandment about how the story goes and you would like to continue that way, who are we to object? You write to please yourself and others, right?

I'd prefer the longer chapter, but it's up to you.
