Fully Voiced Past Sins & Other News · 6:24pm May 2nd, 2014
Hey, everyone. This is a little pulse of life as well as update for things. First, for those waiting on "From The Depths", the next chapter has been written for a while but editors have been too busy to get around to it until a few days ago. (I know many folks here know what college is like near the end of the semester.) Hopefully, it will be ready to go up sometime next week.
In other news, and the primary point of these paragraphs I've penned, is to plug some stuff on YouTube. Now, I know some folks like to listen to their pony words instead of reading them. Some of you are probably also aware of Illlya Leonov (aka Morgan Freepony) and his reading of Past Sins as a audio-book. He did a great job in doing a classical reading of Past Sins, where he as the narrator takes reads everything from start to finish. (For a story that ended up being 22 hours long, that is quiet the feat.)
And I know other people have done or attempted to do readings of Past Sins, but there is one I'd like to draw attention to in this blog post. One that is differs from the classic formula that Illlya Leonov used in one big way.
It's fully voiced.
Eeyup, someone's taking a crack at putting together an audio-performance of Past Sins with a full voice acting cast. Nimbus Productions, as the group is called, has a fairly long resume of audio-performances that includes On a Cross and Arrow, Yours Truly, and Allegrezza. Now Past Sins is getting their unique brand of audio readings, and I think it's going to be pretty awesome.
I mean, have you heard the voice they picked for Nyx!?
So, you have some time to spare, head on over to Nimbus Productions on YouTube and give them a little love. I've embedded the first chapter below as well as all pertinent links.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Awesome, my good man.
Yeah haha I can relate to your editors. I studied fifteen hours for just one exam.
Just listened to the prelude and I really like what I'm hearing. This is going to be awesome~
Wow!
I mean: Holy fg wow!
Me likes it
Edit:
Shoot! I didn't expect the lightningbolt sfx
I think Pinkie put it best...
The voicework for the characters seems killer, but... dat narrator,
2070747 I must agree, he sounds a bit... un-enthused for this. The voices are great though. Nyx sounds about how I expected her to.
Overall I would say they are doing a bang-up job!
If someone with a lot of time on their hands wanted to use the audio from this, and make an animation to... say... make a movie... I don't think that there would be many complaints...
I know a guy who will just love this kind of thing, especially since it's Past Sins.

Filthy casual.
Ohoho! This reeks of awesomeness. Thanks and grats.
Nimbus Productions with a fully voiced rendition of one of my favorite fics!? Imma gonna get started right now!
Is that... Soundspeed narrating!? Awesome, gonna have to listen to this.
Looks like it hasn't updated in two months though.
I saw the audio drama and the voice acting is really good. I'd say that I love the VA of Nyx. she sounds perfect. So small and sweet. Then again Nyx is adorable.
But the voice of the narrator is kind of off putting. It's not that is bad. He sounds loud, cherry and upbeat. And that's kind of the problem. It kills the mood and it feels distracting. The story is very dark and serious. The voice of the narrator should sound sound sad and somber.
2071288 Well it got me a good grade on my final. This filthy casual is okay with himself right now.
Just finished watching from prologue to chapter 4. And Nyx's voice is soo adorable! Now I need a bigger get tear bucket for chapter ten…

>Only 15 hrs of studying
Obviously you aren't trying hard enough
2074161 Nah 15 was good enough. I did well and I ended up with an A- in the class. Good enough for me. :)
That sounds absolutely awesome I can't wait to hear it.
Woohoo!
Past Sins truly deserves this. I can't wait to hear it!
for me the audio version of Past Sins will be voz de sueno's. Unlike this version it does not have multiple actors, they are all done by one guy, but it is done precisely in the style of a 1920's/1930's radio play with lots of sound effects and music. In my head Nyx will always sound the way he voiced her, if only because i can do that exact voice as well, which is useful. Also his reading of is perfect in terms of bringing to the fore all the conflict she is experiencing in chapters 9-13.
