As of today, I am officially 27 years old. I don't like making a big deal out of my birthday, I've had a pretty low-key day and the only thing I'm doing with friends is our usual Karaoke outing on Thursday. I do a pretty mean "Africa" by Toto.
But what I've been doing a lot of today is working through the final chapter and epilogue of ETC. I'm still a little in awe that I'm actually here; I can say with honesty that years ago, back when I was still working on Smiling Flowers, the idea of even working on ETC was silly, and the idea of finishing it was even sillier. But here we are, so close to being able to close the door on what I truly consider to be my opus in writing.
I'm very flattered by the kind comments the last chapter of ETC got. The "Letter to Canterlot" was something that has been mapped out since basically day 1 of ETC, so being able to not only put it down in the story, but having people seem to truly enjoy it, really brought a smile to my face.
ETC has brought me stress at times, I won't lie (I think many of you know exactly what chapter, haha.) But it's also brought me so much happiness and comfort in my own writing... ETC is truly something I can be proud of as an author, something I can look back on and say "Yes! I wrote that!" And also it's about magical sparkly horses. That's a plus.
So, yeah. I do appreciate everyone's patience as I work on the end of ETC... this is something I wanna get juuuuust right. I'm also considering, once the story is over, seeing if anyone would be interested in submitting questions for a Q&A about the story, just anything you wanted to ask me directly. I hope that doesn't come across as cocky or anything, I'm just curious to see if there are questions people still have regarding the story itself, regarding the ideas, anything like that.
Now I'm off to continue laid-back-birthday-o-rama-palooza-14'.
Characters tend to rocket up my "Best Poni" list the more I write about them. By that logic, Trixie should be preparing for a jump to the top 5.
