I made some words · 5:49pm Aug 11th, 2014
hehe...
Anyway, two things,
A) I have a new story... short one, coming out, read it or be baked into a pineapple and strawberry cocktail... or you can have that anyway even if you read it! Then it's optional~
C) That thing up there... or now down there from when i edited the blog... hmm... just thought it up a little while ago... not sure where it ranks in my work... I prefer my essays on unity and conscience... but it’s the first one I've typed down on the comp… if you wish to discuss essays or have your own, come here.
B) (see, two things~) anyone want to volunteer everything they have and come be in my cult? I haven't really given it much thought... and it has no real members yet... but it would be centered on stalking and we would all get a cool little tiny eye of Horus tattoo behind our right earlobe
Immortality
For what does the human mind strive for? The human mind strives to validate itself; to give itself meaning. That is what humans need to feeling order to keep on living. For we soon give into depression or monotony once we realize that our dream cannot be achieved, the only thing that keeps us going is our most basic instinct telling us to survive. Now this being said, this trait most often shows up in those who have not had to have that drive to survive their whole lives, those who have tend to give little thought to having themselves be remembered, instead, relying and hoping that one day, their children or their children's children will grow and thrive. That, while not as advanced as our own, is the same basic drive to validate themselves and bring meaning to their lives.
When we have children, we are subconsciously insuring ourselves, knowing that if we do not achieve what we strive for, then our children will continue our fight for us; This mentality has grown and evolved over time, causing societies as a whole to consider the younger generation as their 'king'. I believe that this may partially explain why there is a growing trend among young adults to have children at a later and later age. As technology and the basic standard of living increases, so do the perceived chances of immortalizing ourselves.
Unfortunately, as the chances go up, so do visions of grandiose and splendor, causing those who would have performed well and contributed to society in whatever way they profess at to become wrapped up in themselves and ultimately fail. Others see people rise up, and, when they themselves do not compare, are given the realization that they may not be able to allow themselves to be remembered, they fall into too hard a depression too early and cannot find it in themselves to keep on living.
Human behavior can seem sporadic and chaotic, it can seem self-detrimental and destructive to the race as a whole. It all comes down to the same thing, finding meaning. When we pit ourselves versus other people, we want ourselves to win, we want to live on and be given a chance to do our deeds and be remembered for them. We will go to war, hoping that if we die we will aid our children and our families survive and carry on our name, also hoping our sacrifice will be remembered and memorialized. We create religion, still in the hopes of being remembered, knowing that being only mortal, we do not have enough time. Being humans, we are also greedy, and when we come up with these ideas of paradise, we take all that we can and pray for full immortality and to live forever in prosperity.
In our struggle to be remembered we are often forgotten, while we all strive for it, so very few are actually remembered that the goal is a worthless one. Only those born in the right place with the situations with a matching set of right skillsets are able to even have a shot. But we try anyway, our will, our stubbornness, and our near inability to listen to reason and logic when faced with such insurmountable odds, allowing us to go forward, pushing, pushing till few lucky lives get to be remembered, get to be immortal in our, and their own, eyes.

@ Food for thought..
What's this about a cult?
2361548
i have no idea... my OCs cuitie mark is an eye of horus... everyone with one tattooed behind their right ear may join
Uuuuh....I don't care about being immortal.
So, because I want to be a dad means that I want to live forever? I don't think that's it.

It appears someone has been busy
2361612
i'm talking about subtle need, not wanting to be immortalized
..
and no essays on human behavior apply to everyone
2361616
you're 100% correct
2361617
true statement... kind of
2361660
Have been for a few days
...I wouldn't, but autocorrect would
...
Hmm?
2361554
And what will they do?
2361727
Umm... Worship me in all my stalkerish glory
2361737
Oh? And just what makes you so worthy of worship?
2361771
I have no idea
I'm just fabulous~
2361970
Tell me of your fabulousness.
2362097
I know who your avatar is and stalked 2000+ people in my first week
2362145
.. Somewhat impressive. Especially the part about knowing who this character is. Tell me more.
2362184
I run the biggest ERP group on the site... Well I did... Before rping was taken down
...
And I run several other groups
...admin some others
...
Wrote five things... Have you given the latest a look?
2362198
You know... I forgot about the group thing. That is super impressive. And nope, haven't read anything you've written I don't think. Especially not if it's recent.
2362236
That was mostly what this blog was about, I linked the story I posted a few hours ago
2362245
I've been failing miserably at keeping promises of reading stories. I'll try to give it a read sometime though.
2362311
I know the feeling... Which is why you should read it now!
2362362
Hm... I suppose that's an option. I'll try that.
We'll meet again in the next life, my friend. Never mind trying to be remembered. It's better to find a way out of the cycle instead...
2362389
Glad you liked it
2364615
I'm immortal, what do you mean?
2366907
I'm glad you wrote it. We seem to pay attention to detail similarly.
2367102
We do?
Hmm... I generally write like that, but I wrote this half asleep over three nights and I never actually edited it myself... I never even Reread it... I didn't actually think it would be up it par with my other work
2370856
Yup.
Especially good for something you didn't edit or reread.
*licks the "tattoo" that is really pen off the back of your ear*
Immortality? Hm.... nah. Sounds all too convoluted. How about we take these feelings of worthlessness and move it to just being afraid of death, desire for immortality being a mere by-product?
2364615 Are you the Avatar?
Honestly, though, are you Buddhist or something of that ilk?
2372686
I'm not a Buddhist... though maybe I should be.
I do also have a tiny bit of insight into the philosophy. Based on what I've seen so far, the reincarnation thing sounds like a good deal...

That was partially my point...
2372767 Good on ya, then I was rather merely being somewhat silly.... somewhat...
