No, not from me. That may take a while yet. But that's the number submitted to (deep breath) The Equestria Daily Outside Insight Summer Fanfic Contest Group. The prompt was simply "Write a story about ponies... from a non-pony's point of view." I haven't yet had time to read more than a few entries, but there's a great deal of variety in the species chosen, which is brilliant to see. The standard of writing is also intimidatingly high!
I have an entry in this contest: my most recent story, We Who with Songs Beguile, was written for it. This is, in fact, the first EqD contest of any kind I've ever entered. (I did submit "The Ballad of Wyverns' Rock" back in 2012, but it was rejected on various grounds, some of which I agreed with entirely.) It's been a lot of fun, though, so I'll keep an eye out for any more such competitions. I may even write another non-pony-protagonist story for fun at some point.
This isn't a "Please vote for me!" post, since the contest is being judged by a panel, but on what I've seen of the competition so far, the winning story is likely to be spectacular. Besides, I've already got something out of the contest: a fun new character to play with in the shape of my crotchety old bluejay, Mazarine. (Not, as my spell-checker tried to insist, Margarine!) He's someone I think I might bring back at some point in a future story, if only as an incidental character or a brief reference.
* Actually, as Blueshift points out in the comics, it's significantly more than that. I wasn't taking account of off-site entries, which are allowed for this contest. A few last-minute FimFiction stories also got in, so the total looks like being in three figures.
I believe the final count, including stuff submitted that isn't on fimfic is in the 100s
2374936 Ah, of course. Silly mistake for me to make, really. But then I'm good at those.
