One thing I doubt anyone would deny is that it takes a lot of work to get a Ph.D. And yet, somehow I've still managed to underestimate the amount of time it requires on a nearly daily basis. This has only grown as the time for my defense has drawn ever closer.
On the one hand, I can see the end. It's within reach, taunting me, begging me to keep it up. On the other, it's behind a monumental final stretch of writing my dissertation and then defending it before a committee of my superiors. There's just always that nagging voice whispering, "You could have done something easier."
That voice is a prick.
I chose physics because I love science, solving problems, and figuring out how the world works. I just have to remember that this is all temporary, that once this is done it will all be worth it. Meanwhile, I'm terribly sorry for the slowdown and huge wait I've put you all through. Having to write so much puts a dampener on getting any progress on 'Wish Upon a Supernova' since I'm already tired of the keyboard when I get some time to myself. In a perfect world, I'd love to just focus on finishing my story before working on the next, but reality keeps getting in the way.
I will finish it though, I promise. ...and who knows? If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get that chance soon.
Thanks for reading,
~H.A.

Heh, thanks!
You mean a group for people who have achieved the sought after third tier of degrees?

Yep I think it would be pretty sweet.
If enought of you PhD bronies get together to do a story it could be the most sophisticated story on the web.
Or an utter clusterfuck. but hay 50/50 works for me!
