A real time history of World War 1 - a video series on Youtube · 9:57pm Sep 1st, 2014
So, World War 1 happened a hundred years ago as of a few weeks back. Some folks have taken the opportunity to make a pseudo real time history series on it, with a video a week for the next four years. This isn't pony reflated at all, but it is a potentially fascinating project and a really unique way to find out some history. It's only five videos in so far, so now is a good time to subscribe and get caught up.
The guy does an okay presentation, easy to follow along and pretty informative. Lots of original footage, lots of direct quotes. For ten minutes a week, you can't really go wrong.
Here's a link to the Youtube playlist, where new videos will appear every week
Also, the start of the Vietnam war is now closer in time to the start of World War I than to the present.
Also also, US Army troops still carry M16s as standard issue, basically the same rifles as 50 years ago.
People who think change is speeding up are whacked.
