Wow... so a lot of you wanted to know if I was going to be doing anything with Voyage, especially after the bonus chapter. What I thought to be a fun little one-shot story turned out to be something that got people asking for more. To be honest, I didn't think that Voyage had all that much in terms of a universe of its own. But when people start asking you about expanding and moving forward with the universe, it really gets one thinking.
I've always wanted to do a Sci-fi story set in my own universe. But the task of creating a detailed and flushed out world seemed daunting. Now though, things are different. I've gained a lot of experience as a writer and storyteller over the two years I've been here. So here we go... you all want a story based in the Voyage universe and I've wanted to make my own Sci-fi epic.
Without further delay, here's what Dawn and I are thinking of. Please note that everything is subject to change and revision.
And a view of the documentation on what is being put into this project.
Questions, comments, concerns, things you like, things you don't like, haiku poetry, drop 'em all below!
Looks cool! I'll be keeping an eye out for it.
i havent even read it, and i can already say "Alfonso, you're a genius! And I like where this is going!"
You mentioned Haiku
I shall deliver for you
And so here it is:
This looks exciting
I do look forward to this
Anticipation
Voyager's End was good because of how short it was, how it stuck to pony POV, how the humans weren't assholes, and how it told us everything we needed to know about the universe it was set in quickly. It doesn't feel like it can be continued.
Still, I'll read the sequel anyway. Just please, please, please don't make every human character military/ a teenager/ someone who spends 8 pages describing their weapons, like many of the other fics here do. I know you're better than that.
My body is so fucking full of YES! that you cannot even begin to comprehend how exited I am for this! Jesus fucking Christ with a Pogo stick, my body is ready.

I have a plan for our primary human protagonists/anti-heroes that doesn't involve them being edgy douche bags with all the depth of a kiddie pool.
2510836 Anti-heroes?

2510843 I know, that was the sound of pure despair!
Going from super-friendly humanity/pony contact -> antiheroes seems like it'll kill the amazing tone you've got.
Still, I'll check it out. If it really does turn out to be different than what I like, I'll pretend it never happened.

There's gonna be a pretty wide variety of human personalities. Not all of them can be super nice and fun loving. The story would get really boring if I did that.
Sounds good.
Keeping an eye out...also Voyage's End popped up in the pop story box last night again.
Interesting.
Protagonist/Anti-hero? Holy shitfuckers how the fuck is ANYONE going to survive this!? I mean, now I'm getting the vibe of War off of Darksiders, for some reason.
This will have all my yes and all my reads!
Not to put pressure on you, but I'm going to be comparing you to Outside the Reaching Sky in terms of sci fi world building and general awesomeness.
Sounds like an interesting concept. I read the other comments and the idea of an anti-hero seems rather good. It would be a nice way to balance out the "everything is awesome" vibe we tend to get from MLP cannon (Not that there's anything wrong with that, it would just be a nice change of pace) as long as you don't portray ALL the humans in such a way. We have too (to?) much of that already.

I am Heavy weapons guy.
And THIS is my weapon.
2589909 I am a spearmaster, and this is my spear. There are many like it, but this one is mine.....sound familiar? I just changed a few words.
Or some thing like:"This is a C-14 Impaler Gauss rifle. There are many like it, but, this one is mine."
