And to cap off the day, someone who had disliked Bad Mondays, removed their dislike. Not the first time thats happened but its special all the same, so here's a glass to you, mysterious wanderer of the night and your gentle mercies!
Now, BM has gotten far more attention than it otherwise deserves or should have gotten and that really does call for me to give you guys something back. I am still working on those maps so I won't even pretend to hang that in front of you as a potential reward. You're already owed that and you're going to get it, just not yet.
So, after discussing it, I've opted to offer to write a one shot of the reader's choice to celebrate when I get my 100th follower, garuanteed to be over 15,000 words.
In order to fairly decide what I'll be writing at the time, instead of leaving it as a lottery for whoever is follower number one hundred, I invite readers to leave comments on this blog post with suggestions for what you'd like to see, the comments with the most upvotes by the time of the 100th follower will be chosen for the one shot's content and can be anything you'd like to see, just with one exception:

Downvotes will not be considered. I thought about contemplating them in case there is a contentious suggestion that divides people, but the fair way would be to advise people not to downvote suggestions they don't like. Avoiding bad blood and arguments that could arise. If on the off chance the winner is a suggestion for something to do with Bad Mondays itself, the one shot will then become a custom chapter of Bad Mondays instead of a stand alone fic and it will be of dubious canonicity depending on its nature, similar to how I treated the April Fool's Lyra chapter. In such a case it will be released immediately after a regular release of a BM chapter so that people who simply don't give a shit won't be kept waiting.
This is for the fun of it and it is basically a treat for you guys for all your help, so I hope you enjoy.

In other general fic writing news, I am going to be attempting to limit future chapters to in and around 9k word from now on. Both so I can write more tight, self contained chapters and to prevent reader exhaustion by throwing massive chapters nearing 20k words at you guys every two weeks. To off set the shortening of the chapters, I am going to try to write one every week.
Emphasis on try. This may result in chapters being released on days other than the traditional Monday, although generally I'll try to keep it to that schedual otherwise JBL will murder me with my own shadow.
I love going off into excessive detail, but sometimes it reeeeeaaaallly drags an arc out. And I still somehow don't get to write everything I want to write, as hard as that may be to believe.

What if, Handy wasn't the only Human on the planet? They either were just out in space, fighting off Horrorterrors from another dimension, underground, fighting the hordes of the damned off because some arsehole thought it would be a good idea to DIG TOO DEEP, or in the ocean, fighting of frigging Kaiju alongside Godzilla.
Alternatively, Handy finds the Mirror Pool. Madness ensues.

How about a one shot where Princess Twilight has to explain to Applejack why her brother's death was 'necessary'.
Set in a timeline where Equestria has just emerged from a battle, victorious but not unscathed. Princess Twilight pontificates upon the bravery, loyalty, sacrifice shown by their soldiers. With Big Mac's death, however, semantics won't help the Apple family. A look into the much parroted lines of "The needs of many come before those of a few" and dispels the notion that just because they are few does not mean that they would not be unaffected.
Uh...Uhmm...Definitely the 'humans kicking pony arse'. Except, have it be some fucking lunatic who's obsessed with dangerous homemade objects and weapons. Ah, I can see it now... Lot's of hairspray, self synthesized gun powder,lighter fluid and gasoline.
In other words, people who live in Alaska or Texas. He should be bad ass though, I don't care if he dies. As long as he takes a lot of those bastards with'em.
This will probably not surprise you, but I want another Lyra chapter for Bad Mondays. The last one is great and it set up so many possibilities for fun things you can do. Lyra harassing Twilight for information, Lyra breaking into Twilight's study to steal her notes, Pinkie collaborating with Lyra, something with humans in Lyra's poorly defined gaming session, and maybe even an expedition to harass the griffons who lived with him. Also, Handy's apparent death gives you an opportunity to introduce some more serious elements to balance out Lyra's shenanigans and his return could be a good way to set her up for an expedition into Skymount to harass the knights and try to corner Handy.
Also, if you do not think 15,000 words of pure Lyra will work without interruption you can split it into multiple shorter chapters running parallel to the main story.
Generally I said, write something that is somewhat more philosophical or different write style like a story about something like Twilight meeting a alternate self where she did not become a princess and never became friends with the rest of the Mane6.
But right now I am only here, because JBL is holding a gun against my head.

I know you most likely won't believe me but I'm a long time reader, heck I have been reading your story since day one. I have until now preferred lurking but I feel that I should change that. I just wanted to say that Bad Monday is one of the best pieces of literature I have read on this site and I brings me great joy that you are still going strong. You are a great inspiration for me as I too write on my spare time. But shameless flattery aside if I may make a request for your 100 follow oneshot then I'd love to see a short story about Shortbeak.
I find her quite interesting and I'm really curious to know more about her or well what is happening right now on the griffin side of the world. I know that we will probably see for our self soon enough as you undoubtedly have already that planed out in one way or another. So to be more exact on what I suggest, I'm suggesting a short about something she has done or is doing right now.
Oh and another thing, love your longer chapters. Big and meaty.

I'd be happy to write a Shortbeak chapter if that is what the readers want, although I will admit, her sheer popularity amongst readers struck me somewhat as a surprise.
2550963 Glad to hear that and to be honest her being popular is to me not that surprising considering her character traits and what we know about her. If one wants to simplify things then you could say that she is quite strong yet seem to have some form of vulnerability that is keeps well guarded. She has interest in what's happening around her and her motives for said interest aren't obvious. It give you the feeling of that there is much more going on then you know and that makes her more lifelike as a character. You know, that she has her on goals, fears and ideals.
One could also say that she is of the impactful yet unknown character archetype that that tends to just draws you in with in this case her "air of mystery" that hangs around her. I can't say that my shitty character analysis do her justice or full explains what I'm trying to explain so you will have to excuse me for that.
