I don't know what you're talking about, I've always looked like this.

Welp, that was quick · 9:55pm Oct 23rd, 2014

Just hit 100 followers, which as of time of writing, means the one-shot competition has closed and its time to tally the marks. But before that, congrats to salmanlalmas for being the one hundredth follower! Good to have you with us.

Now, the results are, this hour of 10:36PM on the 23rd October 2014, (fuck you, I feel like being pretentious), the suggestions with this most upvotes are in descending order of the least to the most:

Tripl3m's suggestion of Twilight meeting alt-verse Twilight with zero votes. Sorry bro, looks like you suffered having JBL put a gun to your head in vain.

Jerky's suggestion of random HiE exploding all of the things with one vote.

Humansruleok's suggestion of general HUMANITY STRONKness, which would have been a fun little romp, admittedly, if somewhat conceited, because there would have been no way I wouldn't have put Duke Nukem in there somewhere.

Beyond the Horizon's BMverse Mirror Pool suggestion at two. Sorry bro, but people seemed to upvote my response to your comment which, unfortunately, does not count, otherwise this suggestion would have gotten a solid 7 votes. To be fair, there would have been a few good jokes in a scenario where Handy has to face multiple (possibly mentally deficient if we judge the alt-pinkies in Too Many Pinkies) Handys. I have a HUGE bone to pick with cloning tropes in literature and it would have proven a good opportunity for me to vent them. Violently. Ah well, maybe next time. Almost certainly would have not been considered canon to BM, but it would have been fun nonetheless.

MrMwagf's suggestion for a BMverse chapter focused entirely on Dame Shortbeak stands in with a solid seven votes, a huge uptick from what it was this morning when I checked it. This would have been a fun one which would have resulted in you guys finally finding out what Shortbeak's first name actually is (Dame is a title synonymous with Sir) as well as some snapshots of what's been going on in Gethrenia and Griffonia in general since the events of the tournament. It would almost certainly have been considered canon, no real reason why it wouldn't be.

Runner up is D48's suggestion for a BMverse Lyra chapter at eight votes. I can say right now that if this had of won, I would not have spread it out in multiple shorter chapters, which would have been annoying to some people. I'd put it all in one to get it over and done with. This, much like the April Fool's day chapter would have been almost entirely comedy centric with pretty much no drama or plot consequence (that would have been obvious anyway) and like the April Fool's day, would be of dubious canonicity and written to allow people to accept and refuse it as they see fit.

The winner is JBL's suggestion for a character study between Twilight and Applejack regarding the death of AJ's brother in a war. Standing in at ten votes, it is the clear winner and I'll begin writing it presently. It'll stand alone as a one-shot and a separate story with nothing to do with BM. I won't say much more about it.

Thanks for participating everyone, I hope you all have a good night.

2551869 Out of curiosity, which was your favourite to succeed?

It was a toss up between the story of Shortbeak, The Life and Times of the Expensive Brick, or the Lyra story.

But, this is democracy at work. And by that I mean obvious vote rigging. JBL got a load of Germans together to vote for his suggestion I bet. I never trusted him.

Also bah humbug.

I dunno, I prefer buzz beetle. Has a nice ring to it.

And ah well, dems de breaks. I suppose there's nothing really stopping you from doing these at some other point down the line, tho.

I am suitably appeased that I got the largest paragraph, however. :rainbowlaugh:

Meh, that one really did not strike me as particularly interesting or unusual so I am probably not going to bother reading it. That is a very old theme and I do not see throwing ponies at it making any different from other explorations of it which is kind of a waste for something like this. I would have liked reading about Shortbeak, the brick, or (obviously) Lyra because they really take advantage of the fact that this is you writing about ponies, but oh well. Hopefully you will decide to play with those on your own initiative at some point, although I doubt it will be any time soon.

Shame, had hoped to see more of her before the undoubtedly upcoming confrontation between her and handy. But oh well, can't win them all.
Yet I'm not sad because I'm a real human bean and a real hero (http://www.fineleatherjackets.net/realhuman/).

B-but my suggestion was the best ;_;.

You will pay for this, Handyman.
