I've been on this site for a good, long while now. This coming July will mark the third year I've been here, making it one of, if not the, longer period of time I've stuck to one site.
And what do I have to show for that? A couple of mediocre stories and a read it later list that does not but grow and eventually stagnate it something that I feel afraid of touching.
Now, don't get me wrong, I love this site. I love all the wonderful people whose stories I've read and whose personal headcanons have crafted some truly fantastic tales to read. Whenever I see the little notifications bell light up I smilie a little inside, no matter if it's just a simple like on a story or comment thanking me for watching them. It's always rewarding to be on this site.
But...sometimes, I can't help but think of what could have been different. I always wanted to write something great for this site, and while I wouldn't say I hate the two stories I put out, they are far from my best effort and I know that. What if I had really tried to put something amazing together and succeeded? Would going onto this site mean something completely different to me? I suppose I'll never really know, seeing as how that time has already come and gone, but I still like to think about it from time to time. If not for pure nostalgia of my first days on here then because my crazy brain is wired to go "what if?" whenever a choice is presented.
So, started next week, I'm going to start being more active on here, both in reading and writing. I'm going to aim to get at least one or two short stories done everyday while saving long ones and those white chapter for over the weekend. Plus, you're probably going to see a new story from me soon! Isn't that exciting?!
