Wow. I've just been reading through all the comments for the latest chapter of Persona, and I don't know what to say. Thank you all so much for your flattering words. Every time I finish a chapter, I'm certain it's the worst one yet, and then the positive feedback catches me off guard. You'd think I'd learn my lesson and be a little more confident.
All in all, it's a pretty nifty way to end the year. Especially considering the fact that my original goal was to be finished with Persona by now. Unfortunately, Erato's blessings have been few and far between these past five or so months. Between that, my hellish job, and the bony finger of ennui poking me in the shoulder, this year has been something of a mixed bag.
On the other hand: Ponies. It would be hyperbolic of me to say that this whole pony thing is the sole bright spot in my life, but damned if it's not one of the brighter ones. Between the show, the content other bronies create, and the opportunity to inflict my own fever dreams upon the Fimfiction canvas, there's been a lot to smile about this year. It was awesome to get back to writing after my unplanned, year-long hiatus, and I've had a blast.
So, what's next?
Well, finish Persona, for one. I'm now gunning for a February finish-date, and I'll make it my News Years resolution to put a little more effort into writing more. Because you know what? I finished this most recent chapter in an evening of fugal creation, and it felt awesome! I want to feel more of that.
There's also a Rainbow Rocks-inspired oneshot that I've been working on. I'm gonna try to have it out sometime really soon.
Beyond that, I have several story ideas I'd like to get to. Here's the big ones:
- A Flitter/Cloudchaser story (actually a reconstruction of a story I lost last year when my old computer died)
- A Celestia/Luna story
- A slightly longer, multi-part Twilight/Shining Armor story (Three! Three Incest Stories! Ah ah ah.)
- A sequel to "Gettin' Blue"
- A sequel to "Go Forth, Young Blossom"
There's also a good chance season five will give me some ideas, but we'll see.
In other words, the ride is far from over. Thank you all so much for sticking with me so far, and for being patient with my recent inactivity. The fact that you're all there, reading and responding to what I write, means a lot to me.
