Question: Would anyone be interested in buying commissions? · 10:48am Feb 1st, 2015
I’ve had at least one person ask me about this before. At the time, I turned them down because I wasn’t confident in my own ability to write to a schedule or to another’s specification. Now, I’m thinking that trying might be a good experience. Plus, helping pay rent wouldn’t hurt.
If I offered commissions, would anyone be interested? Interested in actually buying one, or merely interested in the commissions that are posted? More importantly, what sort of pricing structure would be fair? I usually see FIMfic authors charge per 1000 words, but the rates vary wildly (from 4 or 5USD up to 10) and don’t have much of a pattern. Some charge a reduced amount for words above their initial estimate, others add the extra for free. What would a fair model be if I did take commissions?
I’m probably not popular enough or a good enough writer to even be asking this question, but couldn’t hurt to check, right?
I guess in this case, no answer is as informative as one would've been.
This is uncanny. I was just thinking some days ago about commissionning you. There’s actually a text file somewhere on my hard drive that was meant as a PM to you, but for some reason I assumed that you wouldn’t be interested and put it aside.
I’ll have to order my ideas a bit more before I do send said PM. Or if you’d rather not wait, feel free to PM me about it.
