We're good... · 2:13pm May 4th, 2015
NeoArtimus and I had a long and productive sit-down last night. It was an overdue face-to-face (or at least skype-to-skype), one we really should have had at the start. The conversation remains private, but basically, we agreed that what happened with the novelization was due to a series of miscommunications/lack of communication on both sides. Missteps were acknowledged and apologies were exchanged, and as a result... we're good. As atonement for my own mistakes, I have offered to make her a separate, faithful adaptation of Turnabout Storm and/or any video sequel should she wish it, and I publicly reiterate that offer now.
Me, I take two lessons from this whole kerfuffle. First, don't assume you know what someone is thinking or will say. They may surprise you. Second, writing emails or PMs is not the same as sitting down with someone. It's very easy to be indignant and say the wrong things when you're not face-to-face; even a live chat is far better for the purpose of settling differences than just firing messages back and forth over email.
The matter is concluded, and I ask all reading to not hold what happened against either of us. Our differences are settled, and we leave them here now.
With relief,

I'm happy that you two were able to reach a compromise. That's a very healthy trait for people to have. Something that some people should try and practice. I understand that the converstation was to be kept in the Skype, for I think some people might try and nitpick the ones and start some flames on it. Either way, you both have accomplished it and it did not end in distaster for either side.
Job well done, Firesight. Same to NeoArtimus.
god danm you're going to write out another entire fic of turnabout storm? why not just have the person give you the script text files and then you can just add "the place looked like this" in between each line or something? lol.....
also what do you mean possible video sequel? i read the creator's post on the matter and she said she was not going to do a sequel of any kind.....

I can't speak for her, but if she chooses to write one, my services remain at her disposal. To me, it's simply a matter of settling debts. She was owed a faithful adaptation and didn't get one, so I'm willing to give her one, either on TAS or on any potential sequel. I'd have the scripts to work from, so that's not an issue. With the videos complete, I could knock it out in two months.
3044051 I think a lot of the earlier chapters could be more or less reused. Just remove the extended scenes and hints of shipping. I haven't seen the video series myself, but I've heard the courtroom/investigation segments were pretty similar. Not that they would necessarily be copy and pasted. Just rephrased, using the dialogue from the video series.
3044115 or that....
Good to hear!

The current version will remain unchanged on fimfiction?

Yes. That's not being pulled.

If it's anything. This appeared on her facebook a while ago.

If she's still floating around here, can you give us on update on this?
3044785 oh i see , interesting.....
3044785 Huh, interesting... from what she said in her Deviantart, it seemed like it would be either Apollo Justice-related or CMC related... Athena's pretty cool, though.

Not from her, anyway. I believe someone else is doing one at this point. I heard anecdotally that she hated the direction the show took when it made Twilight an alicorn and left the fandom. Whether that’s true or not, I don’t know.

Maybe. I don’t pay much attention to TV tropes as a rule. Regardless, thank you for the comments you left on the story. I’d fix the color bleed issues you noted myself if I could, but since I’m not the story owner, I can’t. Raven has to. I left her a PM asking her to do so, but she hasn’t been online in a couple weeks. But bleed or no, hope you enjoyed the read.
