At least one will be a villain. At least one will come back to life. None are going to be foals, but if any do, they will come back. One will probably be an alien, and at least one will be for plot, and another for character development. Another will be from old age or in an attempt to save others' lives.

I'm just going to add my voice to the ones who will be absolutely furious if any of those characters happen to include any of the CMC. Or Derpy. Or the Princesses. Or Shining Armor/Twilight's Parents. Or (most of) the Apples. Or the Pie family. Or the Cakes. Um... I guess almost anyone else is fair game for me...

I really have no room to make a good guess here, but I'm going to throw a small handful of guesses for the deaths, however unlikely they may be:
