This blog post is for all the fans of my Nightmare Nyx story. Its purpose is to offer a way for fans to get new chapters to read sooner.
As you all know, there are currently three chapters published. Most of you are probably also aware that there are six additional chapters which have been rough drafted, as has been the case since December before I began publishing.
While editing chapter three, the development team and I decided that one of the main things which made it difficult to edit the chapters was that the entire story had not yet been written. This made it difficult to tell whether something was really relevant to the story or not. As a solution, it was suggested that I draft the entire story prior to publishing any more chapters.
On one hand, this would allow the story to get fleshed out much sooner because drafting is relatively easy. But it presented a problem because the story is likely going to be between 30 and 40 chapters long, which means it's going to take probably a year to draft the entire thing.
I really hate the idea of leaving the fans hanging while they wait for chapter four to be published. I thought maybe I'd invite you all to join the development forum, but the problem with this is that the dev forum is thick with spoilers. I've got pretty much the whole story plotted out and under active discussion in the dev forum.
To solve this, I've created a new group which is for the fans of the story.
This group is open to the public and will provide links to the clean drafts which I will post regularly as they are written. Think of this as an "open beta" or "early access" type of thing. The drafts are pretty good quality, but they are still drafts.
So, what is a "clean draft" anyway? Basically, it's a chapter which has been reviewed by the development team and is about as good as it's going to get without spending heaps of time editing. This means I'm only going to post drafts for you to read after they've already been reviewed by the development team.
This is a public invitation for all the fans of Nightmare Nyx: Protector of Ponies to come join the Nightmare Nyx Stories group! This is where you'll be able to keep up with the story as it is written. And as a special gift, I've already posted chapter four for you to read!
