The cloaked fleet had completed its formation, a formidable offensive line slowly creeping from the shadows of the far side of the planet with the Faust in the center. Princess Luna, now Grand Admiral of the Fleet of Lunar Solace, stared out from the bridge with Samus and all of her officers (human and pony) at her side sternly observing the gargantuan fleet of warships blockading Equestrian Space. All preparations had finally completed and everything was ready for what was to come.
"Luna..." Samus, clad in her Zero Suit, moved to dissuade her friend from what, at first glance, seemed like a suicide mission, even if it was a surprise attack. Luna had not told her of her plans in entirety but was fully confident in her ability to succeed given her experiences in wars of millennia ago.
"You know my stance, Samus."
The tone she used signified the end of the conversation, and Samus knew there would be no other words to say. All she could do, in effect, was watch what was to unfold and prepare for her own deployment.
"Ma'am, all units are at alpha readiness. All fighters and boarding craft are ready to launch on your order," one of her first officers informed.
"Excellent. Patch us into their fleet-wide battle-net and communications."
"Working... and... got it! Transmitting live recording... now!"
Luna's posture straightened considerably and Samus witnessed her facial expression drop into one of pure darkness and dare she say, hatred. It was the first time in a long time that the Hunter was made uneasy by a friend or ally.
"An odd turn of events, is it not? Coming home to find my nation blockaded from my night sky. This betrayal is unwarranted! And it shall not go unpunished!" Luna seethed. "You have deceived, you have broken galactic law, and you have violated nearly every article of our protectorate status... and pray tell, what is the consequence of such treachery?" Luna asked rhetorically, tapping her hoof to her chin before slamming it harshly against the floor beneath her.
"WAR!
"I certainly hope you do not believe numbers matter much, as it only gives us more targets to decimate. That shall be my job. The greatest onus, however, will on you, Admiral..." Luna pointed towards the video-transmission device. "...to announce to every single one of your inexplicably loyal warriors that they, like yourself, shall not be returning to their home planets."
Her complexion darkened even further, revealing naught but pure intent to kill.
"You will perish on ours. Every. Single. One of you."
Upon the utterance of Luna's last words, the transmission abruptly ceased and all fighters launched...
...the hell?
