MLP Episode 100 Before and After (After viewing post) · 4:16pm Jun 13th, 2015
As expected, I loved the episode. Now obviously, spoilers are ahead so just don't read this post if you haven't watched it.
Oh my God, Doctor Whooves in this episode. He had so many moments with Derpy, and I looooved it!~ He said a whole bunch of stuff about time travel, a traumatic experience in his past (Gallifrey~), had the fourth Doctor's scarf, said Allons-y, hell, Derpy even called him "Doc." Not to mention the entire time, he was rambling about sciency stuff in a british accent. So yeah, fanon is basically canon now.
Then there was Lyra and Bonbon (or apparently in this episode, secret agent Sweetie Drops) Yeaaaaah I really wasn't expecting that one. They have a cute friendship dynamic unlike the shipping pair that pretty much everypony expected. Am I complaining? No. Although I did find the fact that Bonbon is a secret agent a little...silly. But hey, this is a pony show, so I can pretty much let it slide.
Derpy in this, of course, was adorable in the way where she tried to make everything right in this episode after she screwed up the wedding invitations. From what I noticed, a lot of the screen time was revolved around mainly Doctor, Derpy, and of course Matilda and Cranky, seeing that this is pretty much their wedding episode.
So, Steven Magnet apparently knew Cranky this whole time? Huh. Who knew. And I liked how he helped Cranky out with his hair in the same way Rarity helped him in Friendship is Magic Part 2.
And then...
Gummy thinking philosophical...
...Larson wrote this episode, so I won't question it.
It short terms, it was pretty much what everyone expected and wanted. The characters you wanted to see are there, they have speaking roles (Except Vinyl, who's fanon voice is so iconic that pretty much no one would've been happy with anyone else. But said fanon actor wouldn't take the job as it would create a conflict of interest, so it looks like she's staying mute. Ah well.). There's not much of a real plot, but it's still very enjoyable (Hell, The Amazing World of Gumball did an episode based on background characters, and that had literally no plot at all. This at the very least revolves around Cranky and Matilda's wedding and how everypony prepares for it.) And look! It didn't destroy nearly as many headcanons as we thought it would! At least from what I could see.
Loved the episode, so leave your thoughts below.
This episode was great. The story was lackluster but the comedy more than made up for it, I love the way they portrayed the background ponies in this episode especially the doctor and derpy.
I loved this episode, it was a ton of fun. Also philosophical Gummy. Yes. Also, Peter New voiced the Doc, ie Big Mac is the Doctor.
