    Helloooo!!

Hi everyone! I know it's been such a long, long time, but I'll have you know that I still pop in sometimes! I just haven't been productive. XP If you follow me on any of my social media (I started Twitter last year, too!), yeah... It's weird as hell.

    Hello everyone! Also story update!

Hi everybody! I wanted to first say how sorry I am for having pretty much disappeared for the past several months. There really is no excuse for that at all. The last thing I want to do is disappoint all of you. So, I'm very, very sorry. I'm thankful for all of you that have stuck around! I hope that 2017 will be a much better year!

    Patreon?

Hello everyone! How's it going? :pinkiehappy:

I’ve considered it quite a bit, but I’ve been unsure about the idea. Not because I don’t have a huge following, I would not expect to get a lot! I’m more than fine with just making some loose change. X3

    The Mane Attraction Review

I know pretty much everyone else is doing this, but I'll go ahead and do it too. XP Because I'm a sheep! Anyway, so this episode was indeed Amy Keating Rogers' final episode of MLP. She's since gotten work at Disney, which is pretty awesome for her. It's pretty sad knowing she's no longer writing for MLP, she's been on staff ever since season one! She even wrote The Journal of the Two Sisters!

    The Hooffields and McColts Review

So it looks like we have the fourth use of the Cutie Map in play today! On top of that, it's Fluttershy and Twilight who are to take care of this friendship problem! And it's a shout-out to not only real-life history based on a feud that lasted over twenty years, but also to movies of a similar theme. Interesting!

Party Pooped Review · 2:50am Jun 28th, 2015

So now we come to our first Pinkie Pie episode of season five! I guess The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone kind of counts? Either way, let's dive right in!

Our episode begins with Twilight having... a tamed Lesson Zero panic attack over an upcoming event. She's organized a friendship summit between Equestria and the Yaks from Yakistan. A new species! So she's very nervous about the arrival, and understandably so. Yakistan is so far off the map beyond the Crystal Empire, that no pony has ever even been there! So it's a bit of a first for all parties involved. No wonder the pressure's on!

The Yaks arrive, and Twilight tries to present them with Yakistan goods...only for the Yaks to completely reject the offering when they're not up to standard. And that's putting it lightly! The pressure is on for Pinkie to be able to throw a perfect party to make them feel welcome and be up to their standards.

Pinkie is beside herself, as is Twilight, with the upcoming party the following evening being their only hope. Even Pinkie begins to lose her cool as time goes on, and realizes there's only one thing she can do. She embarks to the Crystal Empire, to try getting to Yakistan. Now of course, this seems very typical. She's going to trek a long way, make it to Yakistan, and find some kind of authentic item to bring back to Equestria. So that the Yaks can see just how much effort she managed to put into making them feel at home. It'll touch their hearts as they see how their hosts will be willing to go to such lengths to make them happy. Right?

Wrong!

Instead, Pinkie ends up right back where she started due to yet another falling accident. She's literally right at the doorstep of Yakistan... and ends up sledding, backwards, right back to Equestria and onto her bed. Whoa! Now she's really in a pickle!

But as it turns out, her friends found a secret trap door where she keeps all of her party paraphernalia for planning them. It shows them how much she cares about what they want in a party. Pinkie is just as touched as they are, but there's still a problem. The Yaks have declared war on Equestria. Twilight is not only panicking, but distraught. But Pinkie has a plan up her sleeve, now that things are back on the right track!

They had it all wrong. Rather than trying to re-create Yakistan, they should have focused their efforts on making Prince Rutherford and his entourage feel at home in a different way. By showcasing the very best Equestria has to offer and how friendship and teamwork goes a long way. Moved by all of this, Prince Rutherford is very pleased. As is Princess Celestia, who congratulates Twilight and company for their efforts.

It's a very nice lesson to learn, and was actually executed very well. It could easily have been very forced and out of place. But the way it leads up to it really managed to work. So not only was Pinkie's dramatic journey meant to be funny, but to also drive the entire point home. It worked a lot better because it not only showcased Pinkie's determination and great efforts, but also what she should have been doing all along.

Once again, as a Pinkie episode, it does great in balancing the comedy and relating to her feelings. It was especially interesting to see her on the same level as Twilight, with both of them steadily having panic attacks in different ways. It worked because it's very in-character for Twilight to be nervous about this sort of thing and when Pinkie finds her efforts not working, it CAN send her into a frenzy. They really connected on a deep level and I think that was a very nice way to showcase the entire situation. It was a Pinkie episode overall, but the attention given to Twilight was very nicely included and didn't feel out of place.

So overall, it was a fun episode. It was silly, fun, had a great dynamic between Twilight and Pinkie, an introduction to a new species, and a great lesson to learn. I have to hand it to the show's new writers, they've managed to do incredibly well thus far!

Amazing, we're already eleven episodes into season five! We're just barely scratching the halfway point! Next week, it's going to be Amending Fences! By the looks of the synopsis, it looks like it'll be an interesting episode! Stay tuned, folks!

I really admired Pinkie's persistence to the point of being willing to travel all the way to Yakyakistan to get some inspiration to make the yaks feel at home. Just goes to show how truly dedicated she is to her role as a party pony and desire of wanting to make others happy.

And kudos to the new writer from Johnny Test as well! As we've seen in most episodes of this show as well as other shows, not all new writers get off to a good start when it comes to nailing the characters and their personalities. But practically everyone was perfectly in-character in this episode, especially Twilight and Pinkie. :pinkiehappy:

3189215 Agreed! It really shows she's not just in it for the fun of planning and throwing a party, but also making others happy. We did know that already, but the way they expanded on it was a great touch!

Oh yes, the new writer for this episode really nailed it! I'm finding that the new writers this season have done a stellar job thus far! They've really done their homework! X3
