Welcome to the Wasteland · 11:13am Jul 3rd, 2015

I woke up today to realize I was nearing 3,500 followers! When did that happen? :rainbowderp:

I've gotten so much support, between all of you who are following me and the 6,300+ who have given Fallout: Equestria an upvote. I owe everyone a heartfelt thank you. I'm not able to thank each new follower individually, but try to take the time to express my gratitude in my blog.

With so many new faces (well, avatars :raritywink: ), it is past time to do so again.

But first, I want to share a couple pieces of Fallout news:

We now have a timeframe for Fallout Shelter's release on Android. According to Pete Hines, Bethesda's VP of Marketing and PR, it is "coming along nice. Haven't announced a date, but should be out next month. We'll let you know when we have specifics."

This is great news for those of us who do not use an iPhone. Personally, I don't have a mobile phone of any sort -- one of the factors that weighed in on my final decision to purchase Fallout 4 on Steam rather than get the envy-worthy PipBoy Edition -- but I do have a tablet with Android os. So come August (with much hoping the release window holds accurate), I'll be glued to that tablet for an unseemly amount of time.

In other news, we've been given some expectation-raising information on the upcoming Fallout 4, specifically in regards to map size. Enjoy the video below:

"Shut up and take my bottlecaps!"

Now, again, I wish to reiterate what I said last Thanksgiving:

Thank you for enjoying my story and choosing to follow me. Thank you for all the wonderful comments and favorites. But more, thank you for being inspired and motivated, giving back to all of us with your talents and your time. Thank you for your videos and your animation projects; thank you for your art and music and stories and so much more.

But most of all, thank you for your kindness, and your friendship to others. Thank you for being some of the very best people within the brony fandom. You elevate it.

Once more, thank you! :raritystarry:

Yeesh that is big. Anything to get me away from wow please.

Am I the only one who would like to see some sort of marriage system, like Skyrim's, in Fallout 4? Granted, since the protag in this game already HAD a wife before the war, I guess that would be hard to implement and not contradict his character...

3202339 The marriage system in Skyrim was.... eh. All it did was turn NPCs you had only some interaction with into robots that spewed stock lines about love and gave you money if they were a shopkeeper. Though, it wasn't supposed to be a huge game-selling mechanic, just a neat little feature to discover.

3202358 Eh, true. Although, since they seem to be fleshing out a bunch of stuff for 4, a new marriage system could be refined and improved to be more marriage-like instead of just a steady supply of gold.

I find it kind of odd they did the marrge system in the online game of skyrim and you could do it with other player's. But i would find it intresting if you could do that i Fallout 4 but..if they make it like the fable way then do it.

But of course alot of fables stuff was crazy .

LOL

Oh god that how i felt in fable.

The skin of Miss Derpalina Ditzy Doo Whooves is in very good condition in the picture at the top of the post.

And without a doubt you have earned each and every upvote and follower. FoE has become a classic within our fandom, I would even go so far as to call it legendary and its all thanks to you.

Never mind the weeks of writing or the editing process, the shear magnitude of this epoch has left me breathless each time I think about its humble beginnings to its incredibly mind blowing ending.

I believe its about that time I give your story a fresh new read

And once again, thank you as well.

Thank you for giving us such a truly amazing and wonderful story.

Thank you for being so encouraging of others in exploring this world you created.

Thank you, for just being such an awesome person in general.

Thank you Kkat.

Khat, I only found FO:E this year, but I gotta say, it's one of the best fics I've ever read in the fandom. And I've been here since before S2! (Inb4 slow.jpg,etc. :twilightsheepish:)

So thank you, instead.

You wrote a saga really, set a world alive and kicking, and gave folks the keys to cruise about. That is a real measure of trust and a feat to see and smile at everything that blooms.

Thank you again for your amazing story, I can safely say it is one of my favorites of anything I've read.

I've enjoyed your story, following your blog, and the fandom your work created.

Thanks for combining two great things and making a masterpiece.

I'm rather happy with the idea of them minimizing loading zones. It didn't even occur to me right away, but we've seen several complete buildings now that are completely integrated with the overall "outer" world; houses that you can walk right in the front door without a loading zone, windows you can shoot out through, etc. The way everything was zoned in previous games always broke up the flow for me, and was my one biggest gripe with the series. It's very encouraging that it looks like they're trying to move away from that!

I still fear that there will be a large number of zoned locations that feel unfortunately detached from the world around them, but it's got my hopes up.

...And I'll still end up getting it either way. But still, I hope...

I remember in what they promised in WOD and Star wars game's I am kind of well not fully sure everything will stay. But it's because of all the beta's and games I have played over the year's. So many game's coming out this year. Like a game that is meant to replace an old classic. Dark ages of Camelot. But again looking forward to see the promises they keep.

Also thanks for the wonderful story KKAT. It's one of the most impressive stories i have read in ages. The last impressive story i read was a marvel comic. Then I read one more day....Ahem...stopped reading DC and Marvel after JLA act of God and One more Day.

I'm just waiting for the opportunity when I write a side-story to take a sledge hammer to established canon and rebuild the masterpiece you've created into something monsters. It's alive!:pinkiecrazy::flutterrage:

Then theres always the mods to add more to the game! :pinkiehappy:

Thank you, Kkat. Your story was a catalyst for my bronyfication.

You see, when all this MLP:FIM craziness begun, I dismissed it as just another internet fad that would quickly die out. Then one day my friend (who already was a brony) showed up in ICQ and sent me a link to FoE. "I know that you don't like ponies" - he said - "But you do like Fallout." I read it and, to be honest, I was more perplexed than anything. I mean, horses with guns and spears in their mouths? :derpytongue2: Buuut by the time Littlepip and Calamity raided Stable 24 I was hooked, then I started to google for some canon, watch clips from the show... well, and now I'm a brony for four years and counting. So once again, thank you for this amazing story.

do you think you will ever write another fallout equestria story on the scale of the original

This post kind of made me feel proud of liking Fallout Equestria and following Kkat.
Personally I didn't know I did it but sure enough sometime in the past I did, and I'm not planning on changing that any time soon!

Honestly, I think KKat's blog's are one of the only reasons I still look at the feed part of the website. Stuff just tends to pile up if you've been on FiMfiction long enough, and these blogs are just so great that I still rifle through the mounds of random things from threads across the website.
