First ever blog post and 3 year Fimfiction account anniversary! · 11:02pm Jul 9th, 2015
Despite my miniscule amount of followers, most of which are from my first story which was well received but I chose to delete, many of whom are probably no longer even active, I will make a blog post for this. It's been three years since I decided to join Fimfiction! Sure I dabbled in it without an account for a little while beforehand but still, this is (believe it or not) actually quite an important day for me. Despite my better judgement since I had serious studying to do all the time, I let Fimfiction pretty much consume my life, and I have read a ridiculous amount of stories since I joined, it's almost incomprehensible. I don't think I'll ever forget staying up pretty much non-stop for a week reading Diaries of a Madman; I'd wake up, go to school, come home and read Diaries until 5 AM, get 2 hours sleep and repeat the process all over again, bear in mind I read it when it was first bulk published and was only around 850,000 words long. I also don't think I'll ever forget an excellent story called Exchange by getmeouttahere, the very first piece of literature to make me cry from happiness. I've read some truly awful stories, like Cybrony in Equestria which no longer even exists, and I've read some truly amazing pieces on this site like Exchange, The Transient's Detail by J Winters which was sadly cancelled, and Bad Mondays by Handyman, obviously I've read a lot of average ones too.
Anyway enough rambling, all I'll say is I've shed many tears of happiness and sadness over some of the stories on here, and I've spent an utterly ridiculous amount of time trawling through horse words on here - and I regret none of it. Even though I struggle now to find stories that fit my selective interest, which started off really broad when I first joined, I'm still reading to this day, and I hope one day I'll finally release the story I've been trying to work on for a long, long time now. But, I'm a terrible creative writer and that probably won't ever happen. Oh well, it's good to have dreams!
Here's to many more years of Fimfiction, and hopefully a revival of my favourite genre, Human in Equestria, because it's getting a bit stale these days. If I'm still here in 2 years time, expect a 5 year anniversay blog post. There, now you all have something to look forward to!
also have this picture of best princess so this blog post looks less dull
